Are we supposed to be surprised? Anyone can talk about equality and diversity, but that doesn't mean they do anything in the name of equality and diversity.

More trouble for the great and the good at the BBC:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ORE-women.html
Documents issued under the Freedom of Information Act, have revealed that top BBC male employees earn ten per cent more than their female counterparts, and that the average male employee earns £5000 more than women.
Not only that, TWICE as many men hold senior positions than women.
And this from a public body, with its protocols and procedures, equality and diversity policies etc etc![]()

female executives of the BBC make less money? as far as left wing action against this goes, I'd say it's on the to-do list right after promote homosexual equality within the nazi party.
is the only sentence in this article which is of note.
Considering that the article is from a newspaper, it's sensationlized and not adjusted for various variables. Newspapers only care about getting the biggest numbers they can from a study. Exactly like they do when reporting minority crime statistics without adjusting for age and wealth and such shit.
cry me a fucking river
No. You are not supposed to be surprised. That women earn on avergage less then men, is well understood. But publicly funded bodies like the BBC, unlike their counterparts in the private sector, do at least try to give the impression that they adhere to principles such as equal pay.
That they do not, has been revealed here, but only because the information was pulled under the Freedom of Information Act.
Thank you for your post.

Wow , how stupied is that , i dont get why people think women should be payed less they do the same job ? Just because they have breasts (which most fat capitalists have anyway) doesnt mean they should be payed less ,
Comrades, please don't think I am posting out of sympathy for well-paid executives. That is not the case. My motivations are outlined above. But to reiterate: 1. It demonstrates the unjust disparity between men and women in wages. 2. The BBC is a public body, that at least pays lip service to equal pay, and is at least supposed to be more progressive than the private sector. It is of course, every inch part of the British Establishment. 3. It has been caught out not paying equal wages - but only because the Freedom of Information Act was invoked to expose this unjust practice.
I feel the thread's presence on these Boards is warranted.
Exactly. Thank you.

This should make them get paid more!
But seriously, this is so fucked up. I hope this uncovering of information (If it wasn't blatant enough...) will help women get equal pay in Britain, and I hope that other countries would follow this. But the Bourgeois will put up a fight...
