Propaganda that demonizes socialism and spreads disinformation has a lot to do with public opinion.
I think that depends entirely on where you live. It also probably has to do with a different and less strict defintion of what socialism is than what most people have here.

I've met people who still refuse to believe that communism isn't Marxism-Leninism.
This. No matter how many times I explain it...
"I'm a pessimist because of intelligence, but an optimist because of will." - Antonio Gramsci

"If he did advocate revolutionary change, such advocacy could not, of course, receive constitutional protection, since it would be by definition anti-constitutional."

We can agree to the core of the ideias presented here, but we are people too. And we don't get (present time) caught in the causes that affect other people to deviate them from our ideals, so if people aren't tuning in, it's our (every tendency represented in revleft) responsability too. As i see, the great weapons to protect capitalism from revolution in the past were fascism and social-democracy. In many countries, it's almost a fact within the majority of people that dictatorship=bad (that's why i think using dotp should be used carefully depending on who you're talking to) and social-democracy is so void of meaning nowadays its politics only differ from neo-liberals in the sense they say that they feel sorry for the people they are stealing from, so the ideias of order at all cost and social welfare aren't in great use, so along with the clear cruelties of capitalism the system is fragile and the left should be rising.

If that isn't the case, we are doing something wrong, and that's is why self-critique is so important. If the organizations you take part in aren't getting bigger and/or getting more support from the working class, evaluation of strategy is required. That the system works to sustain itself we already know, the challenge is to beat the system even in that conditions.

Because most people in most countries with capitalist governments of this world are ruled by TV. Jim Morrison of The Doors said humans are ruled by television: "Did you know that we are ruled by TV.?" -Jim Morrison, The Doors. And indeed most TV channels of capitalist countries preach a pro-capitalism, anti-socialism worldview. And the TV has great mind-manipulating effect on people. Until socialist labor parties rise to government-power and takeover the media, we won't see the majority of people of this world voluntarily supporting socialist workers parties, over capitalist parties. Unless there is a big big crisis, like chicken prices rising to 50 dollars per pound, gasoline to 200 dollars a gallon and a pizza to 300 dollars per pizza in USA maybe a super-inflation crisis might sway people to support socialist marxist political parties, over capitalist traditional political parties.

    A simple question:
Why does people choose capitalism insted of socialism?

I mean, they vote for it. Many countries have democratcy.
After the Sovietunion's fall, everybody vote for capitalism. Why?

This century and next may be the capitalism moment?

    Whay do you think?

Got an idea now why the world is capitalist.
Most of the world may be middle-class? 90% ?
In my country everybody seems to be middle-class. And we can thank's the Socialdemocratic Workerparty in Sweden for making people want capitalism, insted of socialism.
With first world economies turning more and more into mall economies with gradual reduction in the working class population and world production shifting to third world, no wonder people in first world will conclude that their entire country made of middle class !!
The will to win is worthless if you do not have the will to prepare.

I'm sure most Asians, South Americans and Africans would disagree with you.
'Wealth' is disproportionately allocated across the globe in favour of North Americans and Europeans.

But in my country we are far far away from socialism and we walk further away from it every year.
We don't have "the working class" or "proletarian class" now.
Yes i know people working but all classes is mix togheter.
It is impossible to sort out who's underclass, mid and upper class.
One would think that people who drive a new Cadillac or Mercedes is upper class, but it might be a worker too. So it is impossible to distinguish between them.

Let me explain at this way. We say that someone want no war, but class war. Everybody gonna say and think:
    - He is a Nazi?
    or
    - He is a bully?

You might be punch by Swedish people if you want other people bad economy.
For an example (who happen IRL).
"Klass mot Klass" (Class aginst class) is a group that organized bus trips-safari to communities where rich people live. It need not be great capitalists, there were only people who are rich.
The group was reported to the police and now all Swedes against the group beacuse thay has spread hate, the Swedes say in the media.

I don't know what do to anymore. The socialism has fail in Sweden and it seems never come back - ever.
