Vox i have yet to read your link howeve i have heard bush' speeches in which he calls the N.A. our friends. However, I noticed that you paste a quote from a newpaper regarding treatment of a taliban soldier. I'm not sure if you did it to show how cruel the N.A. are or just to show how brutal war is. If its for the former then i have to disagree with you using it. Because like you said war is hell, and in some cases doing the morally right thing is thrown out the window. This is war and things like this must be expected

The Northern Alliance were in power from 1992-96. They have already proven themselves murderous greedy bastards who deserve no further chance to gain power in Afghanistan. The reason the Taliban was internationally accepted was because they replaced these bastards, but they then proved themselves bastards as well. It is foolish to allow the original bastards back because the replacements we set up were unsatisfactory.

excellent point comrade, i actually forgot that they were in power for a short while, however based on a recent documentary i saw on massod he seemed to value alot of things i hold dear, such as equality for all education for all etc. Hopefully they wont resort back to their old tactics.

the problem is that the alliance has no ONE leader, it is an alliance... one idealist amongst a horde of brigands wont make much difference.
