um, I have a feeling that this decade along with 2020's is going to be very political and will probably include some revolutions, fallen empires, wonderful music, art, and great minds..
But however I don't think it will be because of 2012.
I think it is because history repeats itself and when it does it's always more intense the next time.
Well, they are native Mayans so presumably they have access to top quality hallucinogenics (weeds, herbs, etc).

The revolutionary Sub-Comandante Marcos said in an interview I watched some years ago in youtube, that after the year 2012, there won't be any more political systems. I wonder what he meant by that.

Not to put words in anyone's mouth but some people see the ending of capitalism as also being the ending of politics -- that without any objective antagonisms over the material world people would just work things out without there being any competing interests.
(I think this would *mostly* be true, but I think there would still be factions, and post-scarcity politics, since people would have varying interests -- just not very *objective* kinds.)
