Yo,
So last six months of my life has been a rollercoaster. Been some of the most significant/exciting/fun/awe-inspiring experiences but also the darkest and most challenging.
I flunked last semester of uni due to battling emotional and interpersonal problems which culminated in me making detailed plans to take my own life which were halted only by the intervention of friends two days prior to when I was due to carry out the act after finding out about them through no intention of my own.
Things have stabilised somewhat but the root of my problems are persisting and aren't showing signs of slowing down.
At the moment, I'm taking the next semester off from uni (tommorow apparently is the first day of semester, lol, who knew) and IF I go back, it won't be back to engineering.
So in the meantime I'm working fulltime as a labourer, but it's wearing me pretty thin, that and my position at work is pretty precarious, I'm getting 'laid off' kinda-sorta for the next month till work picks up.
So, with all this in mind and the fact that I have savings, no girlfriend, no kids, no mortage, no study I've decided I need to fuck off from Sydney for a bit and see some more of the world, meet some new people, gain some new experiences and most of all, some new perspectives.
Anyway so, I'm probably going to be abroad somewhere around May-June for a month or two or more. I'll defo be making my way round Europe. Not sure what I wanna do, or how I wanna do it, or really anything for that matter. I'm starting from square one here.
So, I'm looking for:
a) Folks who wanna catch up, show me around, introduce me to folks, let me crash at theirs, etc etc etc. let your imagination run wild
b) suggestions of places to go, ways to go about it, shit to do
c) what ever else the fuck you like, just say reply with some pointless bullshit
so yeah
Nic.

If you give me enough advanced warning if you come to Amsterdam I would surely like to meet up. My house is small so if you stay longer than one or two days you probably better of in hostel than on my couch but by all means let's meet up.

I suppose that it is just about sort of possible that you could stay on my sofa.I think that last time we chatted I was living in Istanbul, but I am living in Europe now. Advance notice would-be good.
Devrim
I got a chill ass couch for you.
We can go shooting, get high, get drunk, fuck.
Wait, what?
Well, I've got a small house, 2 kids and no spare room, so crashing is probably out, but if you're in the vicinity I'd certainly like to meet you face-to-face. I'll try not to be confusing by having too many names on the day.
I met Devrim recently and we're both still alive, so that's something.

It's funny how I'm (of I was) in the same situation as you Nic. Even, I've manadge to get out of this mess (at least I think I did)... But anyhow it caused me a great problems and depression and I did some pretty stupid things to myself. I hope you'll find your way out.
Anyhow if you are interested in coming to Croatia you can allways send PM.![]()
If you end up in Seville I think I can let you crush in my house. I have one spare matress and of course I can show you the city and stuff like that.

I'll ask my mum if you can sleep in her bed.
I love the title of this thread.
Unfortunately I probably can't help you out, as I live on the other side of the planet from Europe.![]()

I live with the folks at the moment so I can't offer you a couch. Hope to be getting to travel myself around June...I've applied to live in Russia or Estonia.
But for now I can suggest...
Lake Balaton in Hungary is absolutely the place to go. Most Magyars vacate to the Adriatic instead so it's not immensely crowded as you'd expect. And there are some really cheap and vintage hotels in the Balaton area that have maintained their Soviet atmosphere- very fun. Really great vineyards everywhere.
Also, depending on your financial situation, Helsinki is gorgeous in May. Sun never sets! But living expenses in Finland since the Euro are up the whazoo so it may not be ideal.

Hey Nic. Sorry to hear you are going through a rough time. If youre ever around the Seattle area, you are always welcome to stay here.
I guess if you're ever in edmonton you can crash here
But I have no idea what could bring you to this hellish wasteland short of kidnapping.
I have a place...but you'll be bored to death here.

Personally I'd like you to stay at Colonel and Mother Cossacks pad. I'm not really buying the whole mother-son thing. I need someone to corroborate this. Do this and I'll send you a nice desk set for the next semester at uni.!
I have a couch up in Tromsø, Norway. Can't promise too much entertainment though.
Yeah dude, I plan to be spending some time in Amsterdam for sure and if you'd be willing to give us a bit of a run over the place that'd be hella sweet. I was hoping you'd be one of the people to reply! Thanks!
Sick. Yeah, hit me up on skype next time you're on. Where abouts in the EU are ya at?
Thanks dude, I'd defo wanna catch up too. You're in the UK right? haha
I was abit worried about travelling to the UK that time of year cos of the Olympics, I think if I went I'd have to be early on in my trip.
Is there anything much worth seeing/doing in the UK? I mean tbh, it was kinda last on my list to come see, even though it's probably where most of the folks I want to catch up with are living.
Is Croatia worth visiting? I mean, I didn't really have my heart set on the Balkans even though it's common to see em included in tour packages and such. What's worth doing in Croatia? I'd be curious to see what it's like tbh
And yeah, if Im buy id be keen to catch up for sure
