the oppressive situations which we seek to escape,
but that piece of the oppressor which is
planted deep within each of us." Audre Lorde
30 fascists that took part in the Golden Dawn march, tried to attack a squat. But they were beaten up by the squatters and antifascists defending the house. One of the attackers, who got injured, is a policeman.
Since a few days it is not allowed anymore to show homeless or very poor Greeks in television.

Struggle against the Action Plan for the exploitation of youth
Struggle against the Action Plan for the exploitation of youth
Destroy of wages and unemployment lists
Unemployment is the number one problem, especially for the young people where the percentage of unemployment is almost 60%. Crisis is not something that is been created. Crisis is the DNA of this rotten, exploitative system and in crisis conditions, it exacerbates.
The National Action Plan on "Employment", announced by the government, is a bomb in working relations, wages and collective agreements. It is the basis for a state wishing to consolidate, after the Act of the Council of Ministers that separates young people in more than 25 years with 586euro salary per month and less than 25 years with 511 euro. We go back decades, when the slogan of the unions for young workers was "equal pay for equal work."
The future that they prepare with these programs, does not confronts unemployment. They want the young workers and the youth to get used to temporary work, to get used to little money, to get used to the flexible working relations, to charity. They want the young people to learn how to solve problems by themselves, how to work without being a part of the unions. They want to persistently beat the lower salary regardless the already degrading reduction that exists today, to suppress the young people even more. They want to destroy the collective agreements. They do not want to pay any insurance fees, they want the young people to get used to the uninsured job.
The government with this new plan which will supposedly enhance the employment of youth, uses unemployment to fund the business groups to Energy, Telecommunications, Tourism, Shipping and Health and social care. Bosses are being benefited that are full of rich funds and workers for free, while on the same time they get used to contribution evasion and tax exemption.
They offer training for free jobs
And then, they throw you again to unemployment
The "jobs" and training has nothing to do with the need for a stable job with rights. They condemn us to permanent wandering from unemployment to low paid job with an expiration date, working conditions as in a jungle. When they say “to get rid of past entanglements” they mean to unravel with each collectively vested right, with collective agreements. They take advantage of your insecurity to ensure a wage, so as to drop even further down the requirements of the right to work, to education, to life.
The same time that we see around us hundreds of self-employed and small shops closing under the pressure and the domination of monopolies, they speak for “young entrepreneurship” and they call the unemployed ones to become businessmen. It’s mockery.
This attack in volves the whole working class, all young people either unemployed, working, or is still in the learning process.
The Youth secretariat of PAME calls all young people, all young workers who will get in these programs, to enter with the head up. From the very first moment, they should organize their struggle for stable work and working rights. They should become members of their unions, to become the unions’ strength. They should struggle through the unions’ lines for stable job and rights.
After conversation to every single working place, in every technical school, Technological Institute or University, in every single school and neighborhood, young people should decide to condemn this anti-labor bomb which they want to throw back to us.
We should take initiatives in order to inform the workers in all the factors and all workplaces, especially in workplaces in which young people and students, work with these new programs of employment and training programs.

Golden Dawn has global ambitions... They already have offices in Canada, USA, Australia and they get help from lots of fascist/neo-nazi organizations. It's just ridiculous because the greek people of diaspora in the USA, Canada etc are how to put it... IMMIGRANTS! They despise this ideology and still Golden Dawn thinks they are going to recruit lots of them...
Also in the Greek link above there are some info about who donates money and generally helps GD... Comrades you are not going to believe it but the supporters are capitalists and some far-right organizations in Russia, Romania and other countries![]()
Always found it bizarre that Russia in particular has a relatively strong Neo-Nazi movement. I suppose chauvinist and anti-immigrant movements will always find a political space to organise amid poverty and economic crisis.
Could any Greek comrades shed some light on the social strata from which GD draws its support? Predominantly petit bourgeois or working class? Any support from within the labour movement? Employers organisations?
PKS(KKE's students part) became no2 power in the universities and technical schools of Greece in today's elections. This is a clear winning on the strategy of MAS, which is the front that PKS started two years ago and its part of the People's Allience KKE talks about.

http://www.zougla.gr/greece/article/...manolada-ilias
Workers got shot after demanding their money that the owner haven't payed them for three months. The incident took place in a strawberrie field in Manolada of Helias, when one of the three foremans shot the workers with his shotgun. The info we have are talking about 30 wounded people, 8 of them are in critical condition, while four of them are in even bigger risk. The rest have some some light wounds.
The owner of the fields has been arrested (he's also well know for the methods he uses to "pay" his workers) and he got the interest of the media in the past (why the fuck they didn't catch him before, that's something I don't know). Later he got to the hospital because he also has some heart disease or something... I hope he pays the workers and then die...
Also, EAAK(ANTARSYA and EEK-trotskyists) comes third, PASP(PASOK) comes fourth, AREN(SYRIZA) comes fifth.
Who is number 1? How do these political disputes happen, is it based on the number of universities and schools organized in each front or is there a national student organization that is disputed by these parties?
Also, do the tech schools and universites have unique organizations for their students or do they all organize in the same space?

No1 is DAP(ND).
Every univesity and polytechnic school has elections, you find the results on every one of them, which are about that single university, and it gets sumed up in the end.
No, it happens on each university.

Revolution?
Can it wait for a bit? I'm in the middle of some calibrations.
GD member and part of the parliament Germenis (also known as Kaeadas which was the cliff that Spartans were throwing the sick and wick children) attacked to Kaminis mayor of Athens. So since he couldn't reach the mayor what else could he do? He just hit A 12 YEAR OLD GIRL! Also note that he carried a gun with him.
We don't know if anyone got arrested yet...
Something that I learned recently is that when GD members give away food (greek families only) they also tend to keep your name and genrally your personal info. How nice they want to know when your birthday is
The good thing with these food "sharing" is that people are trying to stop it as much as they can but the bad thing about it is that there are lots of desperate people that can't do something (and let's face it they can't really understand how twisted GD is) so they accept the food.

Antonis Samaras met with "mr" Dendias (minister of Citizens' Protection) and he said that the base of democracy is the protection of the citizens. I feel so secure now...
Mrs Genimata said something very interesting today: She wants to make a law against the neonazis. I think she means it. We need even more democracy around so let's make some ideologies illegal. Let me think in how many years communism is going to illegalised...

The union of secondary school teachers (OLME) announced on Friday its decision to launch two strikes that they will cause serious disruption of university entrance exams and affect thousands of high school students.
OLME decide for a 24-hour strike on May 17th, the first day of exams, while it proposed also another five-day strike starting on May 20th, 2013. However the final decision for the teachers mobilization will be taken on May 15th, just two days before the exams start.
OLME blames the Education Ministry for provoking the strike with its decision to submit the legislation during the Holy Week, when teachers were on holiday and without previous consultation with the teachers’ unions.
The decision of Education ministry foresees the transfer of 4,000-5,000 teachers to other posts and the increase the weekly working hours to two additional.
“This will have the effect that the hourly-occupied teachers in public schools will lose their jobs,” the president of OLME told media adding that this will affect 10,000 people.
The teachers have claimed that 1,800 work places will be lost alone in the Attica region.
The government threatens to issue ‘mobilization orders’ if the teachers would indeed launch their strikes during the exams.
(source: here)
What's been bothering me is that PAME said that they will only support the strike when the mobilization is issued. The reason behind this decision, is that they perceive the immediate reaction of the working class as "clear adventurism".
Although I agree that it may be a little rushed, I believe that letting the rage of the teachers, students and their parents be buried, in order to organize a mass strike, is clearly a tactic that will fail. In my opinion, SYRIZA's and ANTARSYA's decision to support the teachers (before the mobilization orders are issued) was right, as opposed to KKE's decision to only intervene after the mobilization.
Isn't it quite a paradox, choosing to condemn the strike and only support it when the government chooses to supress it? I'd like to hear some opinions on this.
Update:
The government has issued the civil mobilization orders before the teachers' strike. There is a protest organised in 7pm, in which parents and students are being called to justify the teachers' aims. Practically PAME's decision to only support the strike after the civil mobilization orders are issued, has the same impact as if they were to support it from the beginning.

I really enjoyed Greece. Spent a month over there with Alice last year. Great weather, great beaches. The food wasn't very nice, though.
Maybe its along the line of just "we disagree with the action, but if there is state repression we will stand with you"
it could be called opportunistic at worst, or principled at best.
