Default Getting prepared for debate on Israeli-Palestinian conflict in class.

My history teacher assigned my class to research the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and make an opinion of what we find out. I'm pretty confident in arguing my points for Palestine but I would still like to get some help.

First of all, I'd like to get some help on these specifi topics:
-How to refute that it isn't religous or ethnic conflict.
-Is their really a huge difference between Palestinian and Jewish people besides social construct

What are other points I could argue against Israel? I would really need the help now. Thank you.

There is an entire Jewish ideology that claims that the 'Israel' cannot be created untill the Messiah returns, this would be a pretty decent attack on the Israel is a Jewish state dogma. Remember, atheist leftists are by far not the only ones anti-Israel.

Search for the documentary on Norman Finkelstein, he's a critic of Israel. Also search for his debates.

Focus on the economic aspects of the conflict. The more the economic reality is shown, the easier it is to dismiss religious claims.

Make sure to immediately step in if somebody calls anti-Israeli politics anti-semitism. My main two reasons:

Palestians are actually Semitic calling Semites anti-Semitic doesn't make any sense.
If any criticism of a state is called anti-the biggest race in that state, how is criticism on any state possible? Is criticism on Nazi-Germany anti-white? Is criticism on China anti-Asian?

Also talk about the human rights abuses (you'll find plenty):

How should I articulate my support for a one-state solution to argue against the two-state supporting liberals?

A two state solution is "separate but equal" applied to Palestine. It's a way to preserve the tremendous gap in military, economic, and political power between Israel and Palestine under a thin guise of equality.

The two-solution has been an unmitigated failure since it was first proposed in 1948 by the United Nations. Back then, it would've given the Israelis 50% of the land even though the Zionists were only 33% of the population. Pappe's book proves conclusively that the Israelis planned to seize all of Palestine regardless of what happened with this proposal; when Palestinians rejected this unfair proposal, the Israelis claimed that they had rejected an awesome deal and went ahead and stole everything.

Nowadays, the two-state solution means giving the Palestinians an ever-shrinking territory to rule over:

Until the millions of Palestinian refugees created by Israel's foundation who today live in refugee camps in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt there won't be peace. As long as you have a Jewish state in a Muslim-majority territory, you'll have conflict (duh). Imagine setting up a white state in South Africa.... Oh wait...

The single best book on the formation of the state of Israel and the ethnic cleaning of the Palestinians is by Ilan Pappe. It's called, "The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine" and it is based primarily on declassified Israeli military/political documents. He discusses the fate of the Palestinian Jewish community as well (Jews have been living there since Biblical times in relative peace with their Muslim/Druze/Christian neighbors).

It was an ethnic/religious conflict in the sense that European Jews colonized Palestine under British protection. Here's a great article by an Israeli socialist that gets into this:

The best, easily accessible stuff on Palestine in my opinion can be found at the ISR website. Use the google/search feature.
