Dear comrades,

Youth For International Socialism was founded a few years ago in the United States by young supporters of the international Marxist tendency www.marxist.com

In the space of a few short years YFIS groups have been built in countries all over the world. Here in Britain we would like to build YFIS into a thriving group of young people in schools, colleges and workplaces. You can help us to achieve this goal at Sussex University by getting involved.

The purpose of YFIS is to study and discuss Marxist ideas, in order to understand the world around us, the better to know
how to change it.

The capitalist system promotes nothing but war and misery on a world scale. It cannot offer our generation a future. We must fight against every attack on our rights and our lives being
promoted by the bosses and the rich elite who own and squander the wealth produced by the majority of society, and any government representing these interests.

We must campaign and struggle against descent into endless mperialist wars and slaughter in the name of profit. There are many things we must fight against, but we must also fight for something. We must fight foir a new society, one free from such
war and misery, in other words a society freed from the disease of capitalism.

That means fighting for a socialist transformation of society. This is why YFIS was created and is being built. To educate ourselves
about what is going on in the world and why. To learn how we can build a new society. To organise and participate in practical activity against all the crimes of capitalism in Britain and around the world. We hope that you will be able to join us in this
endeavour, and help us build a revolutionary movement of young people here in Britain.

To find out more about our ideas and how to get involved, how you can help, come to our meeting....

This Wednesday 22 October. Falmer House. Room 126. 13:00 h. Sussex University. Brighton.

We will discuss the current events in Latin America where the Bolivian masses are involved in a General Strike, the health workers in Uruguay have been in a 32 day-long strike and the Chavez Government is talking about nationalization of the means of production.

We look forward to seeing you there...
