A lawsuit filed against a Missouri school alleges that the school not only disregarded one student's rape claim—and forced her to write an apology to her alleged attacker—but allegedly failed to prevent the student from being raped again.

When she came back the following year, the school allegedly refused her mother's request for extra monitoring and did not separate her from her alleged attacker. In February 2010, the lawsuit says he "was able to hunt [her] down, drag her to the back of the school library, and again forcibly rape her." She and her mother reported this rape to the police, and a rape kit tested positive for her attacker's semen—he plead guilty to charges in juvenile court. But instead of taking her seriously at long last, the school suspended her, this time for "Disrespectful Conduct" and "Public Display of Affection." Her lawsuit requests damages for medical expenses, emotional distress, and attorneys' fees, as well as "punitive damages to deter School Officials and others from similar conduct in the future."

I may have also managed to say "fuck!" loud enough for both my parents to ask me why I'm cursing at 4 o' clock in the morning.

I...I just don't understand. And yet, I do. I understand that our society is built along illusory gender boundaries and norms, and that these so-called gender specific "roles" are believed to be a natural product of biology, human nature, what have you. Add that to the utter backwardness of Missouri and you have this. Fuck.

Fuck them. Seriously. How dare they punish the girl - twice! - for an act she was forced to endure and didn't consent to. They let this boy get off easy, yet have no problem dragging her name through the mud? I'm seriously getting tired of this "she was asking for it/blame the victim" bullshit.

Will, after the publicizing of this horrid acts, the moderate, rational, liberal minded left which prides itself on progressive views with regard to gender equality - will they be able to divide the world into the civilized, gender equal west and barbaric, sexist and chauvinist (middle) east, as part of their program of moderate cheerleading for militarist venture?

Of course they will, and I don't doubt that it will be tried to downplay the significance of these events.
Also, it's fucking disgusting that people vested with such responsibility are able to come up with this horrid spin. Imagine, public display of affection. As if the school board is run by male troglodytes so sure of their power in the community.

Is this an accurate representation of the school's actions? It seems to me like no organisation, let alone a school (!) could get away with such an action.
