Right, but I don't see how being under an American puppet would improve the situation... Lose-lose situation, I'm afraid
THose are not the only 2 options, its not a megalomaniac dictator OR American puppet.

Noooo! They're way too funny... it's not like someone actually believes what they're saying, right?
Fascism, if you take away the racism part of it, is'nt really THAT radical of an economic theory, its just basic corporatism and nationalism, which many countries pursue to differing degrees. North Korea in practice is just as terrible if not worse than fascism.

They (North Korean) sources are the most reliable because they are on the scene, yes. North Korea is a very closed society due to the risk of foreigners spying or spreading unrest.

And what other options are there? I mean, ones that would not resut in an imperialist intervention or coup?

Come to think of it...what is this OP even about? North Korea must be wonderful because a bunch of nondescript Brazilian North Korean fans have said that North Korea is awesome? Why should I believe they opinion? Why should I trust them? Why does the existence of this solidarity prove that North Korea isn't as oppressive as we claim?

We'll discuss this first micro-story before moving on to the second and the third. It may be interesting if we can know the significance of any of these stories, and why they are supposed to sway our opinion, so perhaps our resident Jucheist can explain...?
Well the first story, of Brazilians showing solidarity with the DPRK, quite simply shows that the DPRK has international support among working peoples. Brazil still has far to go on the path to socialism but it is making some progress and I think any ties between Brazilians leftists and the DPRK is an encouraging sign. I would think that this forum, being very internationalist in its outlook, would view the DPRK more favorably given these international ties that it is focused on forming between the international proletariat.

    Ditto for the second story.

The third clearly demonstrates that the DPRK is making progress in every area, including the comfort of its working people, providing them fruit products. That this is something Kim Jong Il personally concerns himself with reflects very well of him.

The point is that Kim Jong Il personally concerns himself to make sure they have a full variety of fruit products... does Obama make sure or care the workers of America have such products available? No. Do the Saudi Dictators? No.

And this despite the American sanctions and embargo.

I think Revleft by Birth just might be Kim Jong Il himself cuz theres no way anyone else would defend an openly oppressive regime so hard

Not just Kim. DPRK has a privilidged class of oligarchs, especially in Pyongyang. If you take a look at the videos, you'll see the occasional BMW or similar driving around.

Some people live well under Kim. After all, a monarchy needs nobles as well as serfs...

.... and our dear leader visits a biscuit factory.

I remember it was 2-1 and Maicon scored.

Fascism, when you take away the racism part, is just really nationalist corporatism, its not that extreme, infact I'd say North Korea is just as bad as say Francos Fascism.

They wouldn't allow them onto Revleft. Too dangerous if actual leftism were to take hold. Also, I doubt there's any way to learn english there.

EDIT: Then again, the Russian Federation and PRC do it.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/50_Cent_Party) ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_brigades) SO maybe.
Not that I am an total undying apologist or anything but even according to a CNN doco almost all students in Pyongyang do learn English at school.

I was thinking more about what kind of people would actually believe all the crap about the omnipotent "dear leader" and "great industrial success". I mean, I can understand how some people in DPRK might believe it, being completely isolated from the world and brainwashed 24/7. But how could anyone who actually saw something of the world outside North Korea believe it is really beyone me.

What I saw was that there is some poverty. No surprise. Then he throws in his Western values about how "they don't know any better" and "the textbooks are old". So? The people worked together to get water. What's so bad about that? They have a subway. It may not work all the time, but they have one. There isn't a subway in Cuba. They have buses in Cuba and they don't work all the time. I've personally been on two buses in Cuba when they have broken down. In one case, the bus was going up a hill at max 10 kmh. People were jokingly saying that we were going to get off at the next stop to push the bus. Lol, instead of the bus transporting the people, the people were transporting the bus (In Socialist Cuba, you push bus!). OMG THE FUCKING BUSES BREAK DOWN!!

Anyway, that National Geographic video is propaganda. If it's the same one I saw on Netflix, it's hosted by an uppity Korean-American reporter that is pushy with her Western liberal values. "Like, OMG, I can't believe that they don't have air conditioning. That is totally ridiculous." She didn't say that specifically, but I could imagine her saying that off camera.

About not being able to disagree, that may have something to do with their culture. Unlike Europeans, Koreans value unity, as the guy said. So, don't blame the "fascist/monarchy" for all of that.

I don't support the DPRK because I know very little about it, but I'm definitely not going to believe the lies told by bourgeois media and exiles, just like I don't believe gusanos and the bourgeois media on news about Cuba.

Now, it's my turn to be called a witch, er, I mean troll.
The devaluation of the human world grows in direct proportion to the increase in value of the world of things. -Karl Marx

Of more value is that you understand and learn to not support your security on your clothes because if you lose everything then what are you left with if all you have is only decorations? What a shame. It surely sounds sad like a condemnation that you base your life on only material shit. Nothing special can be purchased.
