When a government employs such vicious methods, and oftens uses them against innocents who have suffered miscarriages of justice, you have to wonder if that government has any empathy for its people. The use of the death penalty - an act of irrational vengeance and legalised murder by the state - is something that shouldn't have followed us out of the 15th century, never mind the 20th.
Actually it seems the Roper vs. Simmons decision finally made it illegal to execute minors in 2005. Still though... sick that it took that long.

That pisses me off.
I dreamt of a flower that was so beautiful that when it whithered away and died a tear left my eye. I saw our births, our lives and our deaths. I felt fire paint me with pain and I felt a kiss on my lips with a knife in my neck. Love to heartbreak to self-destruction to birth and to finally learning to frolic back into the same trap with a warm smile.

Jesus, I didn't know it used to be this bad this recently! It's going to take a LOT of work to get rid of the death penalty where I live, unless there's a national ban. It's great to be in Texas, huh?

I wonder why does this matter. So if he was indeed guilty, executing him would have been less absurd?
If there is something we shouldn't seek about this, is "closure". As long as there is a death penalty, there is an open wound.
Justice?! What an imbecile thing to say. This boy is dead, and will remain so. What justice is there in a "pardon" that doesn't change the situation of its target?
Good grief. Unless they make these men alive again, there is no justice involved here.
Stupid criminal system.

This is fucking appalling...............
first thing in 3 years to get tears in my eyes.........
My thoughts exactly. He was murdered and clearing his name won't undo that. I can see why a family or community might want to prove that someone is innocent, but ultimately it isn't going to change anything.
"Her development, her freedom, her independence must come from and through herself. First, by asserting herself as a personality, and not as a sex commodity. Second, by refusing the right to anyone over her body; by refusing to bear children unless she wants them; by refusing to become a servant to God, the State, society, the husband, the family, etc. ... by freeing herself from the fear of public opinion and public condemnation. Only that, and not the ballot, will set woman free, will make her a force hitherto unknown in the world, a force for real love, for peace, for harmony; a force of divine fire, of life-giving; a creator of free men and women."~ Emma Goldman

Truly disgusting. Words fail me, I can't express how fucking vile this is.
The death penalty in general is disgusting. Such a barbaric and cruel practice.
Murder is wrong, no matter who does it.
