Default A lot of learning, need help

So I got a separate browser just for learning, and I created bookmark folders for each day of the week. My plan for this summer is to read a lot of left-wing stuff, not just books, so I went on this forum and scoured resources. My only question is: are any of the following not worth reading, not legit and/or downright wrong? I'll list off all of the links that I saved and you guys tell me what you think. I haven't started reading any of them yet, so I don't know anything about the links I posted. If I posted garbage, don't blame me . So yeah. If you could tell me if any of these are garbage/not worth reading for whatever reason(s), it'd be much appreciated. Also, any further resources will be investigated. I want to learn a shit ton of stuff this summer.

    Without further ado, the list:

Most of these links are complete garbage.
    Especially this: http://revcom.us/

Here are the links I frequent:

    http://theredphoenixapl.org/
    http://espressostalinist.wordpress.com/
    http://www.revolutionarydemocracy.org/
    http://www.oneparty.co.uk/

Of course, one should probably have an awareness of what the other parties are doing.

Revcom isn't that bad. You could also try Kasama?

The Espresso Stalinist is also pretty good. You could always watch MRN for the lawlz.

I need to know exactly which of the links in my post are garbage, with some reasons, and some more opinions before I can get to learning. Thanks for the other links though

    My recommendation.

Read first-hand books. You want to know about Marx? Read Marx. Want to know about Bakunin? Read Bakunin. Want to know about Kropotkin? Read Kropotkin. etc.

Why get their ideas second hand and have that whole distortion filter thing come through?

So you're just going to read a bunch of Leftist literature for a better understanding of the general Left concept? Is that it? In that case, read it all. It's not for us to decide for you whether or not something is garbage or disagreeable. Nothing's truly garbage. If your intention is to learn, then learn. Pick up an article, a book, anything on anything and read it, decide for yourself how you feel about it, and synthesise your experience into your own beliefs.

Heck, pick up some Rightist literature while you're at it. If you just read up on one side, you won't have any knowledge of the other, and that would make you as ignorant as the flip side. Stray from ultra-specific subjects at first, unless that's precisely what interests you. For every bit you read on Marx, Pannekoek, or Bakunin, pick up Mussolini or Nietzsche. You'll get a lot of bashing on your beliefs, but you'll also learn the perceived problems with those beliefs, and as a result you'll learn to synthesise patches and improvements to those beliefs. After all, Marx's concept of Socialism was scientific, and the scientific process is all about observation, experimentation, and reorganisation for improvement. If we all just learn what has been carried on thus far and not what is against it, we really make no progress in the first place.

If you want to know my recommendation, it's Google. Sure, it's a horrible corporate entity that profits off your inquiries and catalogues your every search, but it'll still open up virtually every scrap of published information on virtually ever scrap of subject material. If you find it, read it.

That's what I'm currently doing, though currently at a pretty slow pace. The thing with the websites is I just want to read news and other things as well on a daily basis, from all over the world, concerned with everything.

I mostly get my news from revleft tbh, if anything majorly important were occuring, I'd hear about it.

Just read a big news source like aljazeera, or one of the ones that all the other news sources get their stories from, like Reuters. Its better than any small news source tbh. Then if you want specialist news you can look around. For example I like reading about consumer affairs so I read The consumerist: http://consumerist.com/
