Homophobic Men Most Aroused by Gay Male Porn
by Nathan A. Heflick
June 9, 2011
Even a man who thought that women all want to have sex with their fathers and spend much of their life distraught because they lack a penis is right sometimes. This person, the legend that is Sigmund Freud, theorized that people often have the most hateful and negative attitudes towards things they secretly crave, but feel that they shouldn't have.
If Freud is right, then perhaps men who are the most opposed to male homosexuality have particularly strong homosexual urges for other men.
One study asked heterosexal men their attitudes toward male homosexuality. Based on these scores, they then divided these men into two groups: men that are homophobic, and men who are not. These men were then shown three, four minute videos. One video depicted straight sex, one depicted lesbian sex and one depicted gay male sex. While this was happening, a device was attached to the male participant's penises. This device has been found to be triggered by sexual arousal, but not other types of arousal.
When viewing lesbian sex and straight sex, both the homophobic and the non-homophobic men showed increased penis circumference. For gay male sex, however, only the homophobic men showed heightened penis arousal.
Heterosexual men who reported the most anti-gay attitudes also reported not being aroused by gay male sex videos.
But, their penises reported otherwise.
Homophobic men were the most sexually aroused by gay male sex acts.

To be honest Im not too surprised by this.
I thought this had already been discovered?
I would love to link this article on stormfront then sit back and eat popcorn.
I'm actually hetero (Or so I've thought throughout my life) but whenever I think of any gay erotica, I do feel signs of arousal, but I quickly discard such thoughts, because... I'm not really... sure about my sexuality.. and I'm scared about becoming gay, not because I hate gays, but because I would be discriminated against like hell, there's still such a high anti-gay mindset around here... and... fuck, I don't know
Am I a homophobe? It's just that I'm not sure about my own sexuality, but I don't project it on my politics or anything...
Do it. You know it'll make you happy.

If we have no business with the construction of the future or with organizing it for all time, there can still be no doubt about the task confronting us at present: the ruthless criticism of the existing order, ruthless in that it will shrink neither from its own discoveries, nor from conflict with the powers that be.

I don't think that makes you a homophobe it just makes you scared and confused. I wouldn't stress on it and if you are interested in men feel confident about it and tell yourself anyone who hates on you for it might be gay also. haha

As if their mods would approve it.
The ones who most want to see Stormfronters squirm are the ones least likely to squirm at Stormfronters. or something, I think...
I'm really not surprised by this. Male rape is vastly more likely to happen from supposedly 'hetero' men than gay men. 'Hetero' men raping gay men as a punishment for being gay for instance. So perhaps there is a vast amount of homophobia that disguises a shame of homosexual feelings.

Lucius Accius (170 BC - 86 BC): "A man whose life has been dishonorable is not entitled to escape disgrace in death."
Homophobe = closet homosexual plagued by guilt and afraid of the stigma. End of story.
My machine my machine,
Please bring my machine.
It sounds like you're either bisexual or a gay in denial because of conservative peers/upbringing.
Doesnt make you a homophobe.
I am hetero and the scene of Gay sex never give me any kind of arouse.
I don't think that's necessarily true, someone may hold homophobic views due to other societal influences it would also mean that there are no female homophobes which we all know isn't true.
I don't think you should be telling another user who you've never met what their sexuality is based on one post. Many men have fleeting homosexual feelings or crushes or whatever I don't think this necessarily makes them Queer. I think most people have questioned their sexuality at some point in their lives.
That's a actually pretty funny because many of my friend are gay. And I can't even watch straight porn cuz of the penis. I just don't like them.
This made me chuckle, although I thought it was already a common view that homophobic men tend to have repressed homosexual tendencies.
One has to swing both ways in life anyway.

^I'm sure it all seemed like common view for those of us who kept updated on the topic. Surely we had a good guess after reading news articles of homophobic men (particularly homophobic priests) getting caught conducting homosexual acts.
It's just nice to have a psychological study to back up what we pretty much knew was true.
At least I can say more about me than you!
While that might be true, it doesn't, of course, explain the historical causes of homophobia in society, but posits anti-gay prejudice as being the product of some individual identity crisis. Is that sufficient to explain, say, the rise of anti-gay legislation in late 19th century Britain? The decriminalisation of homosexuality in Russia by history's first workers' state in 1922? The re-criminalisation of homosexuality a decade later by Stalinist reaction? To explain such changes, we need the tools of materialist historical analysis, not ahistorical Freudian "psychoanalysis".
