As many of you already know, I have recently been restricted. I won't go into the details of my restriction, suffice to say, it was based on spurious charges stemming from a personal vendetta. Most telling is the fact that several members, including one moderator (Whose names I will not reveal.) have made similar statements, without being subject to any disciplinary action. Just as I am aware there is a substantially greater number of members who have come to the same conclusions. Let this be a lesson; speak at your own peril. Personally, I have always thought that the Moderators should be concerned strictly with regulating conduct, not playing thought police, and have never heard a compelling argument to the contrary. However, I fear this makes far too much sense.

Anyhow, as per forum policy, I am presently unable to post outside of this section of the forum, until such time as the policies change or I retract my statements and beg the powers that be for forgiveness. As I absolutely, positively refuse to recant, or amend my statements, under any circumstances, To the contrary, I stand by every word, (Unless previously stated otherwise.) this state of affairs is, unortunately, assuredly, permanent. I find this situation personally unacceptable,for a number of reasons and, thus, have decided to relocate to greener pastures, wherever they may be. I want to point out that this is not a judgment on the other restricted members, some of whom I've had excellent conversations with. I don't think there is a qualitative difference between them and the rest of the community, by any means.

I have recieved a number of statements of support over this travesty, some from unexpected sources, (Conversely,I was also somewhat surprised, and disappointed by the lack of a response from one or two individuals, but I digress.) I appreciate these sentiments. I would like to offer my special thanks to;

I never had any interest in popularity contests, and have also rubbed a number of members the wrong way. I won't list these individuals by name, they know who they are. I've never seen any reason to suffer fools
or to mince words. If any of you were expecting some attempt to bury the hatchet, I'm not sorry to disappoint. I'll see you in hell. (Metaphorically speaking, of course. I would hate to be accused of making a 'deathbed conversion.') Whether this is a case of what I would like to think of as principled consitency, and what I am sure a number of people would characterize as bull-headed obstinancy, it's up to everyone to make their own conclusions. I am fully aware there has been a semi-organized campaign to restrict me for some time, I can take some small satisfaction in that while their objective may have been achieved, at long last, these individuals played almost no part, whatsoever in my present circumstances. This circumstance is the product of an entirely unrelated personal vendetta, by a misguided member with an axe to grind, for whom I have no shortage of contempt.(Who apparently makes a habit of siccing the mods on everyone who has the gall to disagree with her.)

This is a rather anticlimactic ending to my membership on this forum. These experiences have been a largely disappointing illustration of the pathologies afflicting the far Left; (And here I'd thought myself hopelessly jaded after the 'Al-Qaeda Solidarity' thread.) dogmatism, conformity, irrationality, etc. These maladies are a cancer on the far Left, and, by extension, the microcosm that is this forum, and it has matastasized. Mercifully, perhaps, substantive social change, as a rule, generally comes from mass movements, and not marginal cults as it, presently, seems, for the most part, uniquely unqualified for this task. Well, there's going to be one less inmate in the asylum, I'm busting out.

Sorry about the restriction, quite frankly I am still relatively surprised that I have managed to go without one thus far given some of the trends with certain members of the forum. That really did seem to make no sense though, from what I read you were simply displaying a rather nuanced approach to a issue which demands such, hardly anything worthy of a restriction.

The forum certainly has lost one of its more reasonable members though, and that is quite disappointing as such individuals are harder to come by than not. Well, thanks for the help dealing with the irrationality coming from the left on a multitude of issues here and in defending a reasonable approach to modern politics.

I, for one, think this thread was needless. If you had a problem being restricted, then too bad. It was for a reason.

If you wanted to get out of the restriction, then you have to prove that you no longer believe what got you restricted (for example: you now promote socialism instead of social democracy; you are no longer a homophobe; etc).

If you think there was a personal reason, not a policy reason, do not go on a self-righteous rant about how you are some sort of martyr. Simply make a complaint to a forum mod. If they do not investigate make the complaint to another mod and make a short public thread on the forum that says you believe you were treated unfairly.

It's good to see you can maintain a sense of proportion in what must surely be some of the most trying times of your life. Did you copy and paste this from one of the other boring twats that left this site over the years or did you actually put effort into it? Either is quite depressing, really. It's the same nebulous non-criticisms based on buzzwords used so egregiously as to be drained of any semblance of meaning. I'm sorry if you found the idea that you should hold revolutionary politics to call yourself a revolutionary leftist to be an unbearable level of dogmatism or whatever it is you're blathering on about but life can be unfair in that way sometimes. It's also nice to see you went the whole post without losing the core level of overblown pretension you opened with - it certainly helps give me an image of you as person.
