Default Bill in Louisiana to ban all abortions, no exceptions.

    http://www.nola.com/politics/index.s...iles_bill.html

"Rep. John LaBruzzo, R-Metairie, has filed legislation for the regular lawmaking session opening Monday that would ban all abortions in the state and subject the doctor who performs one to prosecution on charges of feticide."

    Yea, fuck that

Ain't gonna pass, and even if it does, it'll get taken to court.

It's just political posturing to get votes from reactionaries.

Usually don't they at least add in something like, unless the woman's life is in danger so that they try to come off as viewing a woman slightly less like a production facility?

    This is just unbridled.

    Like I said, political posturing.

Who knows, maybe the guy really is a misogynist fuckbag through and through. But in political office, it's the realpolitik that counts above all.

Jindal says he will sign if it makes it to him.

I was asked to be a spokes model for Planned Parenthood here in La. My family fears for my life with some of these birthers. Its got to be done though.

He also wants to sterilize low income women and doesn't know why it would be considered eugenics if it's voluntary or racist if most welfare recipients are white.

I think he must be the spawn of David Duke to be honest.

They don't care about the mother, they see death by childbirth as a noble cause, etc.

    Well...its not just political posturing.

The problem is that if such dilluded ideas are repeated often enough they become more engrained in the mindsets they get momentum of their own and become a viable political position.

Its, amongst others, one of the reasons how advertising works and its how the current system maintains its dominance and why the political landscape within it moves back and foreward between different ideologies and requires revolution or a severe shift in the means of production to be altered. And its precisely the reason why giving a lot of press to right-wing ideologies, even mocking them, will make the ideology more common and therefore more acceptable. Its amongst the lines of the same principle of desensitising which operates as a human survival trait.

So all these fuckwits with their abject laws and ideas trying to gain press and make it appear like the shit they sprout is somehow legitimate is very, very dangerous.

The fact we do not get the same platform is one of the reasons why we have so much difficulties in garnishing enough support.

You know I think Duke might be to the left of Jindel on this one.

Really hope it doesn't pass. That is just fucked up.
Children of the revolution, are you serious about this guy wanting to steralize low-income women? Source? That's so tyranical and awful that it's hard to believe.

From banning abortion to Maine's proposal to end child labor laws:
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/0..._n_853503.html

It's obvious what's next: the abolition of public schools, and a return to child-labor sweatshops, with 16-hour work days.

Yes, this may be the real reason why Republicans want to ban abortion: An abundance of cheap, obedient child labor for the (new) 19th-century-style work houses.
money is to politics as fertilizer is to garden weeds.

Feticide is a legitimate thing. Hitting a pregnant woman and killing the fetus (against her wishes), shouldn't just be considered assault, but should also be considered feticide. However, this obviously should not be applied to consensual abortions.

He is gearing up to go National. I remember last year, ACTUP protested as he spoke to a church. He was autographing Bibles.

Wait, what? Isn't that considered blasphemy in his religion? I know for certain that, as a kid, I'd have got a skelp across the ear if I'd gone doodling on a Bible, whether or not I thought I was a bigshot.

Ugh, fundies. Not even trying to make sense anymore.

I think it varies, my parents were fundys and their bibles were full of notes scribbled in the margins. My question is, why was he autographing bibles it not like he wrote the damn thing.
