    Default Incorporate My Uterus

    Link

    Why Incorporate?
Businesses get special treatment these days. If lawmakers and other politicians see your uterus and your body as a business, maybe theyll work to get government out of the uterus regulation business as they do for every other company.

    Can't Say "Uterus"

On March 31st, 2011, in a floor debate in the Florida House of Representatives about the coordinated attack on privacy and womens health, Representative Scott Randolph said if my wifes uterus was incorporated, the legislature would be talking about deregulating. The House leadership then added freedom of speech to its targets by formally chastising Rep. Randolph for using the word uterus. His spokesman said that...
By having no family … I inherited the family of humanity.
By having no possessions … I have possessed all.
By rejecting the love of one … I received the love of all.
By surrendering my life to the revolution … I found eternal life.

So why...may I ask...did you not oppose to the link or the first part of the OP? Seeing as the link suggest, albeit in a mocking way, to do just that? If its not ok to make a joke its also not ok to make a joke of the situation.
Scott Randolph wasn't joking about objectifying women he was joking about republicans desire to regulate people's uteruses and deregulate corporations - a corporation is just a legal convention, it doesn't imply productive machinery (in fact most are totally non-productive) - and the interest in the news story wasn't Randolph's statement at all but the Republicans absurdist reaction to it (as if 'uterus' was a dirty word).

But then, you knew that already (I'd think) - and just wanted to argue. If you want to continue to argue for its own sake while deliberately missing my point, you'll be doing it by yourself.

    Yes...I am very well aware...

Did you...actually open the link? The run time gag there is pretty damned obvious and comes down to joking to make a uterus into a bussiness.

People are just running with that gag here.

(in fact most are totally non-productive)
I'll take your word for it.

    - and the interest in the news story wasn't Randolph's statement at all but the Republicans absurdist reaction to it (as if 'uterus' was a dirty word).
I know. Again...have you opened the link?

Look TC, the problem is not that I dislike your positions and certainly not that I dislike you...if it comes down to it we agree on a lot of the important things. And believe it or not...I actually overall respect you for your positions even if I do not agree with them...well...except for the police thing.

The problem is your single mindedness about it and your absolute inability to lighten up or to even allow yourself for one second to let go of your rigidity. Its your method I take issue with...

Not everything should or needs to be taken at face value. It is really not harmful to once in a while lighten up a little bit...and not immediately pounce on everything you do not agree with....and honestly ask yourself before you act: "is this what the user really ment or..." Its about context.

Now...do I get your point. Yes...I do....and in serious circumstances I would actually have the same position. This is OI...it may be a serious issue but its still brought in a joking way. The reactions therefore will be in kind and will not automatically reflect the idead and ideologies of the poster. Its absurdism...it can be fun.

So yeah...I get you. Do you get me?

Okay I'm moving this to womens struggles. The only reason I stuck it here is because its a Cappie subject.

Say Bu Bye, OIers..... ok bu bye.
