Imagine for a moment, if you will, all of us moving to a single place in the world. Starting our own community and spreading the word out throughout th world. Each person doing their part to build the community, feed it, and help it grow until one day it expands beyond it's borders and starts to envelop another community. Educating, treating the sick, helping one another. All the while, people start seeing that there is nothing you need in this world that you can't get together. No need to be the richest, or the toughest, or the biggest. Just a group of people doing their part for the world.
Then I woke up and was still in NW Arkansas in the middle of a bunch of redneck right-wingers.
I wish I had more time to dream. lol

The problem with our ideas is the wrong people are hearing them. Everyone things "socialism is dead and capitalism is the future"

Hmmm what a great philisophical dreem... too bad about waking up in Arkansas though.. ... I particularly like how you said that people will start to see that there is nothing you need in the world that you can't get together.

Just to imagine a better community, a place where people are so equal, is just so inspiring to me, but its so unreal in the rough fucking stage that the capitalism is now.
    hey, did you forget?

Isn't capitalism in an advanced stage now? I could have sworn that for Marx mentioned that capitalism had to be advanced for socialism to come about.

But, great suffering is what's going to bring about socialism and there just isn't enough of that in the US to bring about that kind of change yet.

That's not entirely accurate in the rest of the world though...

victor, you mighht think thhat your dream is impossible but ive seen an example of it when i was in hungary this summer even though its on a different and smaller scale.
i went to a village in the south-west of hungary where a religious sect called Krisna(part of the Hindu belief) had established a community of its own where they harvest their own food, teach their children (from what ive seen they were highly educated, they all spoke english or another langage),and were almost achieving self-sufficiency in that small community of theirs.i should add that they came from all parts of the world:there were ppl from west europe america canada asia...one of the ppl i met in that community was even an acttive UN member whhos been all over the globe.
now i know its not exactly what we're looking to achieve but it shows that it can be done.
one thing has to be said though that despite my admiration for the way of life of these ppl i disagree with the way they shut themselves from the outter world in the sense that they live a good life as they regard itbut dont ry to spread it around and that they dont care as a community about world politics or how to influence it for the better of all mankind.so mu point is that even if we establish such a community we shouldnt turn our backs on the restt of the world but on the contrary try to spread the example of such a community world wide
Advocates of capitalism are very apt to appeal to the sacred principles of liberty, which are embodied in one maxim: The fortunate must not be restrained in the exercise of tyranny over the unfortunate.

No we shouldn't. That is where the part about spreading outward comes into play.
