So, wonder if this was done for profit (they admit to it) or if it was some other experiment or issue going on that they dont want to tell us.

This is already in the science forum. I'm not sure how thousands of dead birds is any profit to anybody, though.

Sorry didnt see it. The article says the birds were defecating on the crops and causing contamination on the farm.
They are just evil and want to kill of 99% of the world population to impose a UN-sanctioned New World Order headed by Obama as the Communist God Emperor aided by the Evil Wizards of ZOG who are going to crucify Ron Paul for telling THE TRUTH about fractional reserve banking and to take away a White Male's Right to arm the bears.

All these mass animal deaths have different, unrelated causes. They happen all the time, the only reason it seems to be an "outbreak" is because so many people have camera phones, internet, etc so news of it gets around easier than it used to. If you look at where all the mass deaths have taken place, they are almost all in first world countries where this sort of media is widespread. 10 years ago if someone came across a load of dead birds or crabs or fish they'd just think "wow, that's weird" and discuss it with a few people but no-one else would hear about it. Basically I think there's been one case of this reported in local news, someone who has seen that report has came across a similar incident and thought it was worth reporting as well because of the apparent connection, and thus an "omg all the animals are dying!" meme has been created and it's kinda snowballed.

This isn't really news. Starlings are an invasive species in the United States that devastates crops and causes numerous other problems. They are routinely shot. In Pennsylvania, for instance, there's no closed season for hunting starlings or limit on the number you can shoot.
In 2008, the government killed 1.7 million. Washington State killed 650,000.

I don't see how the government would have anything to do with the dead birds. It was probably illegal fireworks.
Actually, in terms of the birds in Texas, Arkansas, etc., it looks more like extreme changes in air pressure combined with wind sheer, both of which have their roots in climate change. For a human, those kind of extreme changes, especially when you move into them, can feel like someone just punched you. Imagine how that impact affects a bird.
The government is intentionally killing the birds to keep the populations down. It's called Operation bye bye bird. TYT had a video on it.
