Eating everything on your plate is a rule I hated but now end up doing without meaning to and it really bugs me when people throw away food or leave a tiny amount of food on their plate - I don't care how full you are, if it's less than a mouthful you can fit it in
Same here. My parents always got mad at me for not finishing my food. Now that I'm in college away from them, I find myself finishing the plate, no matter how full I get.

I used to be one of those loud open mouth chewers. But chewing with my mouth open is actually a part of my culture. It means that you're enjoying the food. American culture although disapproves open mouth chewing. So I stopped as I grew older to avoid any misconceptions.

racism is definitely not cool. that is one lesson that was pounded into me from an early age.
the other ones are, yeah, food ones -
elbows off the table, forks on the left, knives on the right, sit up straight, that sort of thing that I follow religiously to this day. I can't eat at a fast food place without so much as having a napkin on my lap!

Don't play hot lava in the living room and don't kick the back of other peoples' chairs. I didn't realize just how annoying these things were till I had to look after kids myself.

My mom told me to make sure the guys I sleep with use a condom.
I dreamt of a flower that was so beautiful that when it whithered away and died a tear left my eye. I saw our births, our lives and our deaths. I felt fire paint me with pain and I felt a kiss on my lips with a knife in my neck. Love to heartbreak to self-destruction to birth and to finally learning to frolic back into the same trap with a warm smile.
