Actually aside from bics I've used those long lighters that are usually used to light candles or start fireplace fires.
They sell these at the store by my house. I really don't see any practical use for a lighter this size, though. Just confuses me why they even exist.

I usually get a bic.
I also have a dead purple DJeep lighter. I like the shape it is, it's like a shorter but wider and more robust looking than bic. Plus, it's purple. Too bad its dead and its not on sale in my area anymore.

My Bics are good to me. I dropped mine in minestrone soup the other day. Still works.
