Doomed cityUnder permafrost in Siberia?
Sounds like a really interesting project. I hope this or something like this comes to fruition.
"Her development, her freedom, her independence must come from and through herself. First, by asserting herself as a personality, and not as a sex commodity. Second, by refusing the right to anyone over her body; by refusing to bear children unless she wants them; by refusing to become a servant to God, the State, society, the husband, the family, etc. ... by freeing herself from the fear of public opinion and public condemnation. Only that, and not the ballot, will set woman free, will make her a force hitherto unknown in the world, a force for real love, for peace, for harmony; a force of divine fire, of life-giving; a creator of free men and women."~ Emma Goldman

As long as you take precautions it'll be fine. I doubt this will ever get built though.
Mind you the Russians did some work on using orbital mirrors in Siberia...

Thats what I meant by doomed. No one will want to live under permafrost for 7 months out of the year in the middle of nowhere. Mole people?
Good point.

I wouldn't mind it. As long as they had enough resources down below to keep it sustainable, I think it would be an interesting experience. Not to mention a great social-experiment that could be developed out of this project.
If there were the means there for me to live a fulfilling life in the city, I don't think I'd have any objection to living there.

What an terrible idea. No sun. Everyone will be depressed.
Some people get depressed at a lack of sunlight. However, this seems to be environmentally influenced (sunlight and diet), which naturally suggests a solution - artificial sunlight and rich sources of vitamin D.
