Except that I know they're Trotskyites in reality, whether or not the website says so.

Most of them are Trotskyists. I'm not involved with any organisation but I know of a socialist who is involved with http://www.workersliberty.org/

SWP and Respect have a reputation of being full of religious nutcases who's main concern is opposing Iraq war and Israeli occupation

Well your politics sound kind of vague so it would probable be best to find out what specific campaigns are going on in your area and join in with the ones you agree with rather than joining a specific political group.
I agree with this. Have a look around for meetings arranged by unions about the cuts. I'm sure there will be a lot of demos coming up over the past few months, and perhaps you'll be able to develop your politics into something less vague.
"Her development, her freedom, her independence must come from and through herself. First, by asserting herself as a personality, and not as a sex commodity. Second, by refusing the right to anyone over her body; by refusing to bear children unless she wants them; by refusing to become a servant to God, the State, society, the husband, the family, etc. ... by freeing herself from the fear of public opinion and public condemnation. Only that, and not the ballot, will set woman free, will make her a force hitherto unknown in the world, a force for real love, for peace, for harmony; a force of divine fire, of life-giving; a creator of free men and women."

My politics aren't vague, I knwo what I believe and what I don't. Not everyone needs to belong to "an ideology".

If there was a Die Linke or a PSUV in Britain I'd be in it. In the past I've campaigned for these:

In Britain though I don't see any equivalent of the aforementioned groups. Basically left of Labour there's...tiny Trot groups, or the Communist Party or RESPECT, both fo whom are very small and quite ideological (though the latter less than the former).

And Afghanistan. Seems fair enough. Afghanistan is the biggest poltiical issue in the UK which I'm concerned with, it's a travesty (as was Iraq but that's now admitted to be lost cause, even Vince Cable condemns the invasion).

Aren't the majority of left groups in the UK Trotskyist and only the CPGB Stalinist? Wasn't the militant left also a trotsky group?

Anyway, if you can't find anything you think is along your own ideological lines, then why not just start your own group up and then affiliate yourself with a broader international group?

Let's have a nosey over at the leading stories on socialistworker.co.uk will we?

"As the Coalition Hammers Workers...Bankers Grab a Billion a Week"

"Students - It's Time to Restart the Fightback"

"100,000 Council Jobs Set for the Chop"

Yeah, we're just obsessed with the war aren't we?

i think the OP is essentially asking is there a UK party that sits on a place on the political spectrum between Labour and the SWP. I dont think such a party exists. Which is probably a shame because it would be a good home for left labour party members to migrate to who arent pro revolutionary.

They may want to choose his or her words carefully because its my understanding that even left reformists are restricted.

Im not in mainland UK but the closest thing is probably Respect. I'd be uncomfortable with them as i found their tactics rather opportunist, mainly the way George Galloway got elected in Bethnell Green and the way they cosy up to the Muslim council.

Do you have some specific problems with MCB that would stop you working with it on some campaigns? I mean in the reformist sense of course.

Is it true that Respect decided to be a bit wishy washy when talking about gay rights in order that the MCB would like them more? If so that's a pretty good reason to be uncomfortable with them... It's one thing to work with a group who you don't completely agree with, it's quite another to water down your own politics to get into their good books

Pretty sure this had nothing to do with appeasing the MCB though.
