Why Americans do not want to live in communism?
I lived in the Soviet Union and I know that there was very good. Now it is destroyed and the world plunged into chaos: the permanent war, the reduction of nuclear weapons threatens the loss of stability (nuclear parity).
If Americans were not so stubborn, we would have to build communism throughout the world. And all would have lived very happily.
There was no war, Soviet scientists will build for all fusion reactors and oil would not be necessary.
We would have fed all the children in Africa. Together we have been able to send man to Mars and build a city. We would not hurt the Americans and made friends with them in the socialist world.
The world would be better.
You may say that this is not true, but I was there. Your politicians scare you silly things like "Evil Empire" and propaganda films. Do not believe them, everything was different, much better. You just had to accept communism and everything would be fine.
Why do not you want to join us and live in a Socialist United States of America?
I found this in a somewhat reactionary forum posted. I have no idea if this is real -I assume not. But it made people think some.

Because most Americans are misguided to what communism or socialism is.
To them, socialism is either Cuba or Sweden.
Communism is either the Soviet Union or North Korea.
This perspective is incorrect. If Americans had a more clearer picture of what socialism and communism (worker's control, etc) many might actually like the concept.
The Soviet Union were not socialist and it's arguable if the USSR's state apparatus would've facilitated the transition to communism if the US/NATO weren't in the way.

Well, to begin with, the Soviet Union was never Socialist, let alone "Communist", as the right-wing American media routinely claim. It was, as I would put it, a State Industrialist society, which was born out of the fall of the Dependent Capitalism of former Russian Empire and, after the failure of initial attempts at supporting the working class revolutions and uprisings in 1918-1923 and the consolidation (regrettably inevitable) of the former revolutionary leadership into the new ruling class, turned to pursuing a slightly different way to the primitive capital accumulation than was experienced by 'classic" Capitalist nations.
Though State Industrialist model was quite progressive in comparison with both "traditional" capitalism ( especially Dependent one) and the Fascist Statist-Capitalist synthesis, it lacked the resources and innovativeness to bridge the threshold to the truly socialist construction as opposed to "catching up with the West", even as the continuing involution of its bureaucratic ruling class into proto-capitalists and the growing cynicism among the populace doomed it to regressing back to "old good" Dependent Capitalism - this time with ageing population and diminishing natural resources.

Yes, it caused quite a stir. The guy may just be for real as he posted another here recently defending the German DDR. It is funny how the bourgeoisie liberal Democrat react to a subject not spoken of much so harshly even though they know nothing. They default to siding with the reactionaries. /facepalm
That is not too surprising. Often among mainstream political parties they find things to use as a beating bag in order not to look to extreme to the public and this carries over into their general mindset.
I was told it was because the "Clashing political ideologies, and stubborness" , as told by my history teacher.
That would be because of years of propaganda by McCarthyists, and the fact that a large majority of Americans don't really make an effort to look beyond the propaganda and find out what Marxism is really about.
Because they think that Communism = replacement for democracy. Not to be mean but most Americans are REALLY stupid.
Yes, because believing something that's been repeated to you over really your entire childhood and even your adulthood without counter is clearly a sign of idiocy.
When I was younger, in elementary, the social studies teachers would tell us, and this was as young as kindergarten, and I remember it exactly from the mouth of My Teacher: Today we are going to talk about something called democracy. Democracy is when everyone gets to vote for their leaders. Communism, however, is an Idea that doesn't allow people to vote, and it means that only one man can rule over them.
So, in about third or fourth grade, I began to be VERY confused. We learned about Kings and Queens, Saddam Hussein, Hitler, and all those tyrants. So I raised my hand and asked "Isn't saddam hussien, the king of England, Hitler, ect., aren't they all Communists since they didn't let their people vote?
So I became very confused, why even have the word communism when you could just say dictatorship? So I studied Communism, and, I became a Marxist as early as middle school.

Aside from the usual propaganda about the Soviet Union from the Western Media, Karl Marx actually talked about why he believed that Communism was not as welcomed in the US as it was in Europe.
His reasoning was that because the United States never had a real class consciousness present, the people were less inclined towards Communism. I would even go further and argue that because the United States grew out of the communal living of the Puritans, there was less an inclination to try Communism due to the Puritans' utter failure in regards to implementing Socialism.

I guess this means there will never be a revolution within the U.S. as they are doomed continue with the Democrat or Republican merry-go-round for all eternity. I think the worst case scenario that the U.S. would eventually become Fascist as they could be actually heading towards that route right now as the U.S.'s final climax....
Although I could be wrong and let's hope so.

Put it this way, Most of the Right Wing Population in america, DOES NOT have ANY Idea what Communism, Socialism, or Marxism are. For all they know, Obama is a Communist Nazi Terrorist.
If you look at all the bad press communism received throughout its time, it was played up to be this evil terror, the communists will come in the middle of the night and steal your babies type of thing.
But if you look at the loss of death and suffering which takes place during revolutions, you can't blame the everyday person who just wants to get on with their lives in peace (even if they are indirectly under oppression).
The world at large is ignorant to what communism truly is due to the communist mistakes and the capitalists propaganda machine.

the reason why americans are so afraid of communism is because they live under the most effective propaganda machine they hav managed to turn the very word communist into an insult they have not been educated in the fundamentals of communism only lies which is to be expected from capitalists educate the mases and u got a revolution on ure hands keep emm dumb ignorant and with the illusion of freedom and choice and they are safe quite simply the usa is a lost cause for now.
