ok, this thing that happened makes me so sad.. not only because it worsened the image of us arabs/muslims to the masses, but also because innocent people payed for the actions of their governments... of course the arabs were reacting to something, but who ever did it reacted in the wrong way.. what the hell did they prove by doing that???! now probly more innocent people will die in afghanistan or somewhere... islam doesnt even encourage such bullshit killing innocent civilians... the Prophet said (not preaching here, just clearing a point): "whoever sits in his house is safe, our war is with those who r out to wage war"... and what r we seeing now???! fucking idiots dressed as muslims trying to make innocent people pay for the shit of their government, probly because they cant fight their government... so all of u shitbrains that condone this bullshit can kiss my ass!
this will not get us back our dignity, this will not get us back palastine... i'll say more later...

I agree. As far as i'm aware (forgive me if I get the translation wrong) Jihad only means "struggle to defend your religion" not "holy war" as some people translate it.

And everyone seems to be blaming every Arab for the actions of a few people (who may not have actually been Arabs) which is sick when they can't their own problems.

there r numerous forms of jihad... one form of jihad is struggle to defend ur religion... another, is struggle to spread islam... what happened does not apply to either.. it did not help in defending islam, and it certainly didnt spread islam... some opinions over here say that its an atempt from israel (or supporters) to further ruin the image of islam... come to think about it, it makes sense... the world is now considering to fight terrorist organisations globally... once terrorist organisations r wiped out, then there will be no threat to israel whatsoever... but i dunno.. everyone says something else...

looking at all arabs suspiciously because of the actions of an extremist few, is like being suspicious of all white americans because of what happened in the oklahoma city bombing. this doesn't happen because the people being suspicious, are white americans and they know that all white americans aren't like mcveigh. the same thing is true for arabs, they know that they all don't condone terrorism, but unfortunately all white americans don't realize this.

What shocks me most in the news is the attacks on Arabians in the United States. It doesn't matter what part of the Middle East someone is from... no one is safe. In my mind the attack on New York and Washington has not made capitalism weaker... has not done anything for the people in the Middle East. It has only made Americans cling ever closer to the flag (which I for one and sick of seeing everywhere I look) and has caused Arabian Americans to have to hide in fear, some getting shot, and blowen up. And has caused Americans to call for blood and war! A New York city firefighter said to GW Bush today, We'll take care of the search and rescue... You take care of the search and destroy!"

So I hope everyone here on this bb who's in the USA is ok and not being harrased.

my girlfriend sends her regards comrades, she is from afghanistan actually and she has already been harrassed. and we live in canada, but even up here some muslims are being bothered. i think this is horrible and i hope the governments can educate the people to differentiate between terrorists and law abiding muslims. on a side note a friend of mine, who is muslim was on the bus reading guerrila warfare by che, and as if this could be a avoided at a time like this was pretty much drawn into a fight. unbelievable. peace

The terrorist attacks are being used as a convenient excuse to act on previously suppressed (though not very) anti-Arabic feeling. The xenophobia is not limited to the US or those countries close to it - here in Australia, the day after the attack, a mosque was graffitied with swastikas and Anti-Arab slurs. Harrasment of people of 'Middle Eastern appearance' is rife.

As the 51st state of America, Australia was one of the first countries to pledge its blind support of ANY American retaliation. Bush must have been delighted that this once quite leftist country is presently 'governed' by the most right wing government in Aus' short history - how convenient.
It cannot but be supportive, socialist, communist or whatever you want to call it. Does nature, and the human species with it, have much time left to survive in the absence of such change? Very little time. Who will be the builders of that new world? The
