My all time favorite is Henry Kissinger. Not only because of what he did in Indonesia, Cambodia, Chile etc. but I also hate his arrogant attitude and the way he talks and smiles. He pretty much has all the qualities I despise. I also hate the fact he's not in prison where he should be

But in regards to homosexuality, Shankara didn't mention it (neither did Marx, for that matter), but many Hindu gods had homosexual attributes, and some were even transsexual, so I'll assume he was quite tolerant towards homosexuality (of which was outlawed and chastised by the British, mind you).

Well, that's the reason I don't have a political or philosophical "idol". They are limited by their own circumstances.
