I had the same problem as well. I saw Capitalism as flawed and unfair, so I came to my senses and declared myself a Marxist (a couple days ago, actually, since this forum just opened my mind completely)

I hope you find where you stand, and good luck.

EDIT: Well, I'm not exactly a "true" Marxist.. since I haven't read everything about Marxism.

Ah, don't see how I missed that. My bad, B.
... To live – does it not mean to have indomitable faith in victory?

My response to the original post: The best thing for you is not to be in hurry to declare yourself a member of a cause. The first priority should be to read a lot of library books about social problems and crises, the history of the labor movement and other popular movements, theories and proposals, etc. Don't let anyone recruit you quickly into their organization. Discover for yourself. You will know when it's time to dedicate yourself.

This. Very much so. In fact I've been calling myself a leftist for about a year now, and I still haven't officially decided for myself which "ideology" I am.

Just give it time, buddy. Things will change, your views will be renewed, and your mind will be made up.

Right now it seems I have no political home. I'm relatively young, 26, and I had always been I guess what you call a reactionary conservative up until a few years ago, 2007-2008. At that time I saw conservative economic policies do not work; but I still feel very much the same on non economic issues.
How do you know our language? I'm predicting plant, troll, or closet leftist. If you're sincere, well that's just awesome.
I don't really belong on the right anymore because the right says you must worship capitalism, the constitution, and the right of the powerful to exploit those weaker. They say you must give people the freedom to be exploited and the exploiters the freedom to profit immensely from it.
Don't lump the Constitution in with being pro-exploitation, please.
    anti-death penalty- I'm not,
This is a bad position. To be pro-death penalty almost immediately assumes the role of vengeance. I think the death penalty may be necessary but it must logically be justified. The reality is that it's a completely skewed system that favors those in power. Limiting the death penalty and having that as a moral theory will additionally help the left in numerous ways. I would urge you to reconsider this position.
If people do say this they are not a leftist.
This is a difficult one for most of the left. Sadly it's not a rational debate that could push people further together. I'm of the opinion that this particular issue might be resolved in a more amenable way after worker control.
Also not a leftist position. In fact the more restriction on gun rights the more inequality is permitted.
pro drugs-I'm not exactly on fire for that
    Acceptable.
pro gay rights-I'm not exactly on fire for that either,
    A big issue.
