If this site really wants to show balls, it should offer membership to a political party bent on representing not Republican, Democratic, or even Ralph Nader views, but only those views concerning workers. Hence any legislation that is pro-minimum wage increase, pro-union power, pro-worker rights, pro-education, pro-social service spending should recieve our support. And how can we support? By discussing the issues right here, and E-mailing to everyone we know on how to vote or for whom to vote for. We can all, referring to us that visit this website, do coordinated E-mail attacks to agencies or politicians websites concerning issues they took a stand on which we disagreed with, while firing off E-mails to thank and encourage those who stand up for our views. And whatever we do, we label our political party. That is just the beginning, I believe the more we discuss this, the more we will build on it. Ex. A company in a city has workers that go on strike. Through reading the paper we find out that the company illegally closes its doors and moves to another city or state. The person who reads this article is pissed, so he comes here as a good political member would do, and posts the website of that company and the website of that cities representatives with names, titles, and all and asks us to fire off these E-mails, etc. I believe that with just 50 members responding to this call with different written E-mails with our political party mentioned, we can show them we do not mess around. The webmaster can definitely help out on this since he has our E-mail addresses and stuff. The name I propose is LOC, the LEAGUE OF CONSCIENCE party. Whos with me? We can also fire off E-mails on where not to shop for so and so reasons, such as Walmart capitalising on slave wages, anti-union acts. I will start it out by saying do not shop Walmart. They use alot of overseas products not giving a shit on how it was made, the meat department went union so they shut down all meat departments, etc. Go to www.walmart.com like I am doing and let them know how you feel. If you want more information on what I am talking about, just look it up under any search engine the words, walmart boycott. I am going to fire off my E-mail and I will be sure to mention the party label, LOC. For all of those that talk the talk, now is the time to walk the walk.

This seems like a good idea. You should also realize that many people, maybe even most... are not in the United States. However I think this is a good thing. Such a movement could be efective if including members from all over the world.

Going with your example... If a French company in the united states is sited by the union for being unfair to workers... members in France can encourage a general strike at their HQ... and we all know how much the French love to strike...

yeah it's a good idea but I'm in England so I can't really help but I agree that US politics is too centered around the republicans and democrats.

Maybe I'm just confused, but I'm not seeing how this is any different than being an active member in America's socialist or communist parties. They all have their own lines of communication and are guaranteed to be in the United States, makes more sense to me.

although i live far away(in lebanon) but i find the idea very interesting..

I wanna fight you but you don't dare
I spit on your face and you just stare
I beat you down and the cops don't care

Stab you in the chest

Actually, I like the idea of having an international force of people. I think that a party is secondary at this stage, but to have people writing from all over the place, even if it's just signing something sent, can't hurt and it might help. And that's the thing, isn't it?

It may do no good at all, but it can't hurt.

Yahoo!, to use a capitalist tool against them, offers free mailing list services. Using it could allow people to join of their own volition, and would aid in getting committed members.

If you do this, I just may provide a link on my site. It's low traffic, but every voice counts. My only reservation is an institutionalized party. An NGO on the other hand, is very cool with me.

Oh, you might also want to check out Boycott The Bastards at http://www.urban75.com/Action/boycott.html

As they used to say on the radio here in the States, more rock, less talk.

Economists have provided capitalists with a comforting concept called the "free market." It does not describe any part of reality, at any place or time. It's a mantra conveniently invoked when it is proposed that government do something the faithful don't like, and just as conveniently ignored whenever they want government to do something for them.

RedCelt, the fact that french workers love to strike is exactly why a french worker strike wouldnt make much of a difference people just wouldnt notice the difference...

hey evryone
my hotmail seems to be working just fine too so it must be a national problem or something.
as for what gooddoctor proposed about joining local political parties well here in lebanon leftist parties are mostly a joke.theyre run by ppl who are after their own benefit so for now i have to do whatever i can on my own this why i thought the idea that darkbrown proposed about a n international cooperation of the ppl on this forum would be such a great idea so if you guys agree to go thru with it count me in..
