    Let's wake up and value our environment like the poets of old.

    By William Wordsworth (1807)

    The world is too much with us; late and soon,
    Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers;
    Little we see in Nature that is ours;
    We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon!
    This Sea that bares her bosom to the moon,
    The winds that will be howling at all hours,
    And are up-gathered now like sleeping flowers,
    For this, for everything, we are out of tune;
    It moves us not.--Great God! I'd rather be
    A Pagan suckled in a creed outworn; (1)
    So might I, standing on this pleasant lea, (2)
    Have glimpses that would make me less forlorn;
    Have sight of Proteus (3) rising from the sea;
    Or hear old Triton (4) blow his wreathed horn.

    (1) Brought up in an outdated religion.
    (2) Meadow.
    (3) Greek sea god capable of taking many shapes.
    (4) Another sea god, often depicted as trumpeting on a shell.

    He looks new, and probably doesnt know the rule.

    OK dude, as you are a cappie, you are not aloud to post in this part of the forum, you are really only aloud to post in OI. If you become a prolific capitalist you will be restricted there.

    However welcome to che-lives, its good to get aq little bit of capitalist input, as long as its sensible. If anyone flames you just try and ignore them, and send a moderator a PM, and it will get sorted out. However if you are insulting etc, then you will be treated with no respect what so ever.

    You're damn right Troll. But tell that to the global corporations. Not only are they exploiting workers all across the world but they are also destroying the enviornment without respect to any sort of government regulations.

    Well I think that man was put here in the universe to make use of everything they get their hands on even if it means destroying the things that are around them.Animal right's activist believe that eating animals is wrong and animals and humans are the same.Wrong!Animals are here for our needs because were higher in the food chain.

    Go tell that to a tiger, then slap it around to prove you superiority.

    "Well I think that man was put here in the universe to make use of everything they get their hands on..."
    You stole that idea from early European "settlers," didn'y you? Humanity is was specificaly placed in the universe to use everything?! What sort of pointless existance do you have?

    "...even if it means destroying the things that are around them."
    Really?! go destroy your environment first, please.

    "Animal right's activist believe that eating animals is wrong and animals and humans are the same."
    What is your source? Speak for yourself.

    You believe in the religious concept that man is to rule over animals, yet you reject the parallel obligation to respect and care for nature, that is a large part of most religions.
    YOU ARE A HYPOCRITE

    How can you be a communist if you believe so blindly in this kind of heirachy?
    If I didn't have to fight to stop ideas like yours from being used against people, I would be fighting for animals all the same.

    Quotes:

    "If a man aspires towards a righteous life, his first act of abstinence is from injury to animals."
    --Albert Einstein

    "Cruelty has cursed the human family for countless ages. It is almost impossible for one to be cruel to animals and kind to humans. If children are permitted to be cruel to their pets and other animals, they easily learn to get the same pleasure from the misery of fellow-humans. Such tendencies can easily lead to crime."
    --Fred A.McGrand

    "He who is cruel to animals becomes hard also in his dealings with men. We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals." --Immanuel Kant

    I couldn't find the quote I was looking for but these also show the idea that someone uncocerned with the use of animals will likely be so with people. Your lack of respect for nature makes me question your respect for humanity and how you divide humans from nature. like I have said before: you cannot hold humans above nature because humans are of nature.
    Stop veiwing yourself as better than the only system that keeps us all alive.

    Hawker, what the hell are you talking about?

    Animal rights activists don't necessarily believe that eating animals is wrong, they protest the method at which they are killed and ensure that animals don't go extinct or aren't killed in excessive numbers.

    You sound just like any imperialist, believing that man is god amoung the universe. 200 years ago you would have said that whites must dominate blacks because they are an inferior race. Or that's at least how you come off.

    I understand where you are coming from. You believe in the idea of survival of the fittest, and that man is the fittest creature. Keep in mind though that we are dependent on all aspects of nature, so be wary of killing animals and destroying the rain forest. For nature is the above us all, without it, we would surely perish.

    Shut up, the enviroment is necessary if we destroy it we destroy ourselves. We must sustain the status Quo between man kind and the enviroment, if we tip the balance then civilisation will end, because the enviroment supports us.

    You have a very short term capitalist approach to enviromentalism.

    Animal right's activist believe that eating animals is wrong and animals and humans are the same.

    I know and hang around with loads of Animal rights activists who eat meat, you generalise like a capitalist as well.

    Animals are here for our needs because were higher in the food chain.

    Actually no we are not, as omnivores we have we are only in the middle of the food chain, because of human invention we have risen, but biologically we are not the highest, as 313C7 iVi4RX said you "Go tell that to a tiger, then slap it around to prove you superiority."

    from reading your post it seams that natural selection is somehow failing.

    Is it not our brain, a biological organ, that gives us the ability to invent new technologies in order to adapt to and dominate our environment?
