Since Ulster competes with the rest of Ireland in Hurling, Gaelic Football, Rugby. And their footbal association is controlled by the Irish Football Association and the people there talk Irish, they originally came from Ireland and are indeed Irish. Then it is logical to Assume that Ulster is Irish culturally.
From the above I conclude that Ireland has to be owned completely by Ireland or completely by Britain. As the people don't want it to be owned by Britain then it cannot be owned by Britain and must therefore be owned by Ireland.

before i say anything i would first like to state that what i am about to say does not mean:

b. i do not think northern ireland should be part of Eire
c. I hate irish people

right, studies have shown majority of people in Northern Ireland dont want to be part of Eire.
Also, Anyone who supports any of the militant organisations in any of ireland is a bigoted myopic fool, and cannot claim to be socialist.
If the IRA spent half it's efforts trying to make Eire socialist, and fighting the enemy within, instead of fighting to CONQUER and be IMPERIALISTIC over another set of territories then they would have won it all by now.

How you have the audacity to put the two words together and to call yourself a socialist has always confused me. Now I think that you really have no idea about socialism or the progressive movement and it's history.
You claim to be both a socialist and a British patriot! What is there for a socialist to be proud about about imperialist history, the only thing a socialist in Britain can be proud of is their struggle against imperialism! Which ultimately means opposing the imperialism inflicted on Ireland through the occupation of the 6 Counties, it isn't even Ulster!. As far as the IRA goes, they are the only ones who have fought against this imperialism.

Che correctly identified imperialism as the root of oppression and exploitation of not only the peoples of occupied lands but of the working class in the oppressor nation!
There is a world of difference between the nationalism of those in an occupied country, which is actually internationalist through its opposition to imperialism, and the nationalism of those in, or supporting the imperialist nation.
Many try to argue that working class unity can be achieved in the 6 Counties. This is of course the ideal. And many protestant socialists I have encountered argue that the protestant workers suffer as much as the catholics in the 6 Counties. I think they are right in many ways, however, until they recognise that imperialism is their enemy too they will remain in the shit housing, shit job world they inhabit.
Just as in the way that until the British (or for that matter the American - French - German ...)working class recognise the fight against racism, imperialism and bigotry is essential to the their struggle, they will never win.

i live in britain and i say fuck the british too because they are just english ****s who believe that they have a divine right to rule the world as the superior race. give ireland back to the people of that nation, and the same goes for scotland and wales. there are no british people in these countries (apart from imperialists, of course).

i'm well aware that the majority of northern irelanders want to be british, but then so did many indians before 1950. that is not the issue. the people of ireland, true irish people, are fed up with an english colony on their land.
