it seems that everyone is basically saying that the people are kept ignorant by the sytem (schools, tv, etc.) and therefore capitalism and anti-commnuism will go on. well i say, how can you educate the people when the second you try to do so, you are branded, stopped, and destroyed as a "red" and dangerous "lefty" who is trying to destroy "the american dream." i think you can only do this by having friends in higher places, so to speek, in the american government. only then can you be allowed to move in and educate. the closest person we have to this right now is ralph nader who the other two parties have successfully crushed up to this point.

by the way redceltic, i think you ment "selecting" bush not "electing"

i think you have to work from the inside out (personally) but you have to be aware because doing so makes it very easy for you to fall into their trap. you really have to believe in your beliefs and aren't willing to change for anything, no matter what logic is presented to you etc

Your absolutly correct Pce... my mistake he was "selected" and not "elected". It is also wise of us to remember Joseph McCarthy and all the blacklisting... we don't need to go through all that again.

The American government has always been hysterical about communism even before the Cuban revolution. The depression was a good demonstration of how capitalism dosent work, many people either dyed of hunger or commited suicide, that would have been the best time for a revolution. Unfortunately, the Americans that did turn communist rather moved to the USSR than start up a revolution. I have a feeling that there will be another depression seing as how America is now prospering the way it did during the 20's, if there is, we should make it the cause for destroying capitalism in this, the most capitalist country, that would cause others to do the same.

redceltic- there's this book called "supreme injustice" written by someone (i think allan dershowitz or something like that) which looks interesting. i haven't read it but it's about how the five members of the supreme court who caused the count to stop, acted based on the people involved and not objectively. i saw the author on the charlie rose show (i don't know if you watch that) and he seemed like a very intelligent guy.....
