There you go, LeninistKing. Stick to Counterpunch, ZMag and Democracy Now.
This is a good article. It's right on the money. The reason why most Americans will not succumb to the fact that the US dream is dead and buried is because they've been told that the market will pick itself back up and everything will be good as new.
Most Americans won't admit to being poor much less admit that the US is shrinking to a second rate nation thus ending the American dream.
I just don't understand how they cannot see this? It doesn't take an economist to realize that everything revolved around credit, the dollar earned hasn't gone as far to purchase goods since the late 70s, everything is made in China and people have to work two or three jobs just to keep up with the Jones's. Not to mention that the economy relied heavily on speculative finance growth over the real stagnant economy.
It doesn't make any sense. What kept people in the dark so much? What still keeps people in denial to do anything about it? No economist, not even conservative ones, believe that the US will ever reach the maxim that it did during the 'golden age'. Why are people still adamant about returning to the past like some second coming of Christ?
