Any one know of any communes that have been running for decades in the U.S.?

There have to be functioning communal housing/ farming organizations in the US. How do i find these locate a near by one ect. I would like to visit and see how people find living like this to be. There must be some communes that have operated for years/decades that arnt just cults, that have strong political leanings??? Well anyone who can point me in the right direction will be appreciated.
