Marx and Engels wrote that book in a hurry, haste. Hm, I think you should elaborate more, and point out what was so great. Making a thread with a one line post, that doesn't show anything is a waste of time.

Seeing that you're new around here, welcome and enjoy. I'm sure you will learn many, many things. As I have, since I've been here.

This is the first book in which the principles, aims and goals of COMMUNISTS were described. Each true marxist should know these basics. But there are still more to learn...Don't stop at the beginning of the way!

yes, very good (although it was hard to read) (>.<)

it was written a while back and im amazed at the fact that a lot of those things still apply a century and a half later!! although time has made Marx's and Engle's theories hardly belivable, i think they are true. for one the capitalist society is crumbling (US) and its going exactly how Marx stated it.

After your done with that one pick up Das Kapital comrade!

You should also keep in mind that Marx and Engels wrote it for the young capitalistic society.
Capitalism stepped in it's imperialistic age at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.

Imperialism is the final stage of capitalistic development. It will definitely die at this stage marking the age of the COMMUNISTIC DEVELOPMENT.
Lenin developed Marxism considering the reality of imperialistic capitalism. I advise you to read Lenin's "Imperialism as the last stage of capitalism". This work conform to the situation the world is in now.

Personally, I could never read through it, but I am not a Marxist either.

I read parts of it every day in school, to try to block out the conservative imperialist babble of my teachers. It's an excellent read and can be printed off the 'net if you don't want to buy it.

Read it again. If you still don't get the grasp of basics, just read again, and again.
