Im just wondering what your views are on what Che would of thought about the US and the UKs war drive towards Iraq? Would he of taken action fighting for Iraq against the US, and what would be his views on the increasing amount of Islamic Resistance to the US? Give me your views, im new so i wanted to start a discussion rather than coming into a discussion in the middle.

Very interesting topic! It's hard to say what Che would have thought. I highly doubt he would have agreed with the US and UK. He supported their actions during World War II, but that's simply because he despised the Fascists Hitler and Mussolini. After that he began despising the capitalist UK and US. I also doubt he would have fought for Iraq. He wouldn't want Iraq to be attacked by the USA and so on, however I doubt he would be much of a fan of Hussein. Che was also fighting in the interest of the people, and I believe he wouldn't agree with Sadaams oppressionistic tactis in maintaining his nation. It's also extremely hard to say how Che would have felt about the current Islamic movement. He was atheist so he wasn't a big fan of anyone too involved or obsessed with religion, however I think he would admire their resistance from the Western World. Anyways, if he were alive today he'd probably be too busy working with Latin American countries to bother with Iraq or the USA. Those are just my opinions of how he would have felt.

P.S. Sniper, did you just make up that name, or are you paying homage to Che's former pen name?

I think it is really hard to say, but basically, he might have supported Iraq. CERTAINLY, NOT THE US-UK, we are all aware of that.

I go with Larrisa ans Che vive today, Saddam is not been a good lider for his nation but I think Che wouldn't be agre with the USA in attacking IRAQ. I also think that president Bush only desire is war. I know war sometimes is necessary but this time, Bush does not have strong proofs that Iraq has nuclear weapons, every nation has the rigthsto have weapons but if the USA wants to take them away I will say tat is not fair.

what i find strange about the whole thing is that north korea have admitted defying the US and have admitted that they have nuclear weapons; and the US don't seem to be that bothered anymore......bush is just hell bent on getting saddam because he was theone who made his daddy look stupid...even if bush gets them to dis arm he will go and try and get "regime change" and the iraqis will be defenceless.

as for che, there is no doubt he would be against the US and UK but i think it would be because of this desire for oil (ie imperialism) rather than war

I guess it's because NK doesn't have oil like Iraq. Bush is after the iraqi oil and a personal old family revenge against Saddam, that's all what it is about.
NK can crash the US with its weapons.

yes i agree........and that is why i'm against the idea of this war

at this moment in time, i would consider Kim Jong-Il more of a threat than Saddam Hussein

though to be honest......i couldn't see NK or Iraq attacking the USA....its just my opinion

Hmm Ied have to argee but although Che didnt support religious fundamentalist movements being a strong athetist, but he also did believe in an means to an end. He may not of supported the strong Islamic movement, but I believe he might of used it too his advatage exploiting the anti US feeling.

Btw Vive im glad u noticed I was paying homage to Ches writing name, ive always wanted to use it.

Well I think NK reaction to the USA is normal because President Bush is attacking Iraq; a communist country that is developing nuclear weapon. (Of course if Iraq is creating nuclear weapons) I also think that Iraq may be a dangerous country if they have nuclear weapons so it will be better if Saddam gets rid of them, I would say that if less countries have these kinds of weapons it will be better for everyone, it seems that day-by-day more countries are developing these kinds of weapons! President Bush is been sending troops and ships over to the middle east, I must say it and say it over again that President Bush only desire is war!!!

Che would have believed in a socialist revolution, in iraq not a us freindly regime, or a tyrant, he'd change it from the inside not the outside using cruz misiles
