After reading some posts where some of the members gushed about how hot or cute Che looked in the pictures, I had to wonder if he would have achieved mythical status were he to resemble... oh, i don't know... monkeyish Dubya Bush? Don't get me wrong. I love Che with all my leftist heart but I must admit his image does a lot in exuding the romanticism of heroic revolutionary fervor. I'm just wondering. Would he be as popular as he is now if he was fugly?

I don't think it would matter to us revolutionaries. But his image might not be explioted as much as it is. If he was fugly he might not be on every punk kids capitalist clothes.

I think he has so many followers because of his bright thoughts and vast knowledge, he's far more than a revolutionary & romantic hero, he was an extremely intelligent man. He left the world an important heritage.

well, of course many people wear his face on a shirt because he looks good, but that's the same thing as everything else...

Che was the man, I don't really agree with some of his thoughts, but I can't really talk. I hope everyone of us becomes a "Che" in thier own way.

oh god yeah, the beard  I'm gonna try to grow one just like it... *slightly rubs chin as I contemplaate life with a male beard*.... But somehow, call it intuition, but I don't think that my efforts will amount to anything

haha, fugly, that's a funny word......
But on more of a serious note, I don't think that it would matter. I knew of che the man before I had seen his picture (or his famous image) and to be quite honest... I didn't think that he was all that good looking when I did see it, lol  But as I read more about him, he just got hotter :P I don't know, men with intelligence are always hot.... to me anyway
    I don't know, I think he was a bit of a whore.....whoa, back down......in his youth I mean
I think that it's just the way he carried himself, with pride, it's nice to see

If it were appearance that made one famous, than I know one who should be at the top of the world. However, Che isn't loved because he is good looking. That's foolish.

Che may be popular amongst people who don’t know he is because of his appearance but I would like to think that leftist thinkers admire him for his achievements, not his looks. He is very nice looking, but does it really matter? His looks have nothing to do with what he did.

It's funny because I bought a Che top yesterday and my best friend was like "I know this is not what you want to hear but he looks hot". It was funny.

"members gushed about how hot or cute Che looked in the pictures"

That is an unhealthy capitalist view, and should not be accepted on this forum
