And now i'll tell you the true! He was a German agent, he was infiltrated to Russian Empire...and he made revolution !!!because!!! IT WAS HIS MISSION!!!
He felt his power under the Russia, so he stood in Russia as a COMMUNIST LEADER...of course his reforms was good, but true-is-true: HE WAS AN AGENT OF GERMAN EMPIRE!!!
My opinion about him is:" He wasn't angel, but he was MUCH-MUCH better than sTALIN!!!"
I had two grand-grandfathers...they were repressed (killed) like an "ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE"... I HATE sTALIN...my family lived very bad...they were "relatives of an enemy of the people"...That's why I'm not communist, I'm "Temperate Socialist"!!!

My boyfriend is from Russia, and his family was chased away to Siberia by Stalin - just because they're originally German. Lenin, at least for me, is much the better socialist.

Stalin was mostly a disgrace for Comunism , i wouldn't even call him a comunist . From where to start ?
I believe he acted mostly as a cruel dictator.
On the other hand he was the one who gave nazi forces the biggest hit , but there were 25.000 russian soldiers dead .
For me he is disliked because it is said that when he and Winston Churchill were " cutting down the pie " of which countries would go east and which west , they placed Greece in the west block . But in Greece there was a civil war between leftish guerrilla forces ( who actually gave a really bad time to the nazis during the invasion and occupation of Greece ) and the so called " national army " having thousand victims and even brothers killing each other . It is Greece's worst part of hystory , a harsh civil, fraticide war full of terror and violence from both sides .
And the tragic irony was that the future was allready planned by two idiots who didn't do anything to stop it . And never asked what the people wanted .
Sorry for my arrogance but this injustice burns me .
Lenin was the organiser and the leader of the Octomber revolution . He was a Marxist and it is very interesting that he was present in the funeral of one of Marx's daughter , Lora , (1911) in which he made the speach , saying that her fathers ideas will triumph way earlier before people think , something that sounded really unbelievable at that time . And future justified him .

Sorry for getting you into the trouble , but from what i think, Lenin was not a german agent.
The revolution was aided by the German goverment but for their own gain , Nevertheless you can't say that the Octomber revolution was their idea and Lenin was their pon . Because the ideas of the revolution was way above all that .
During the World War I Lenin called on the workers of all countries to revolt and end the war. This interested the German government, which wanted peace with Russia.
Russia's losses in the war were appalling. Revolution broke out in March 1917. The czar was dethroned by the new provisional government, but the war went on. This goverment couldn't do anything ( the total industrial production was reduced 36.5% compared to 1916 all the prices , of food and goods rised , also the income of the workers were reduced 57.4% compared to 1913 ) and there were rumors of marshal law coming up because of the political crisis. Lenin and 30 other revolutionaries returned to Russia. The group arrived at Finland Station, in the Russian capital, on April 16. The next day Leon Trotsky arrived from New York City. Lenin and Trotsky made a formidable team. In June took place the first panrussian congress of the soviet , in which took part workers , farmers , simple people , even soldiers .The bolshevicks were in the first line with the people. The demonstrations were hit by the goverment and 400 people died . The provisional government accused Lenin of being a German agent, and he fled to Finland. On October 22 he returned secretly. After instructing the Bolsheviks, he again went into hiding.
On November 6 Lenin reappeared to direct the revolution. Before daybreak on November 7 (October 25 in the old Russian calendar) the Bolsheviks seized the railway station, state bank, power stations, and telephone exchange. In the evening they arrested cabinet members meeting in the Winter Palace. On November 9 Lenin formed the world's first Communist government.
That's the story in brief , and you could easily see who and why accused him to make him less popular and hit the revolution .

Part of my grand-grand parents was reach(not SO REACH, but they had money fog good life) and after those revolutions they became POOR!!! Bolshevics took EVERETHING, those damn "commisars" almost caught my grand-grand father, but he escaped...(I told you that in 1941 he was "repressed")...then my grand-grand father got married. But they lived very bad...
Even in Cubinian revolution there were no such thing as BIG EXPROPRIATORSHIP!!!

As I wrote, my boyfriend's family had great trouble at this time. His mother's father was killed by Stalin (DOB!) and they were chased away. You all should once listen to my boyfriend talking about Stalin... I also think that the things Stalin did weren't Communist anymore...it's like a second Hitler!!!

Lenin was not a german agent. The germans sent him back to russia after he was exiled so that he could start a revoution, thus eliminating the russian threat for the germans. It was effective as well, considering that russia backed out of WW I in 1917 due to their revolution. Did he help the germans? yes. Was he a german spy? no.
