There's no exact date for the realease yet. Right now the cast is on holiday vacations, but they will be back to tape on January until the last days of February or first days of March.

I have a website dedicated to this movie, always updated. Except now cause they are on vacation. I'm taking now the time to ad the rest of the stuff that is under construction. I didn't know if I should make the site in spanish which is my first language or not. Well, I'm glad I didn't cause that way more people can understand it. So, go read, it's in english Here's the addy.

I read that the motocycle diaries is not a true account of Che. Will find the quote and the author as soon as I can get home, I am at work right now.

We could start up the Che-Lives Play Fund so that you can afford to go see it.
There were two “Reigns of Terror,” if we would but remember it and consider it; the one wrought murder in hot passion, the other in heartless cold blood; the one lasted mere months, the other had lasted a thousand years; the one inflicted death upon ten thousand persons, the other upon a hundred millions; but our shudders are all for the “horrors” of the minor Terror, the momentary Terror, so to speak; whereas, what is the horror of swift death by the axe, compared with lifelong death from hunger, cold, insult, cruelty, and heart-break? What is swift death by lightning compared with death by slow fire at the stake? A city cemetery could contain the coffins filled by that brief Terror which we have all been so diligently taught to shiver at and mourn over; but all France could hardly contain the coffins filled by that older and real Terror... --- Mark Twain

I can read spanish, the article said the movie was made with the approval and help of the guy whom Che actually went around motorcycling with.

Yes, Gael and Rodrigo de la Serna, who plays Granado, (I think he's Ch nephew, I'll confirm that later) spent some time with Alberto Granado. There are some pics on the website of them together. Gael knows more about Ch than most people I know.

I heard there was a movie coming out within the next couple years about Che and Benicio Del Toro will be playing Che. Is that the same movie or a different one?

It's a different one Sarita. I don't know when the Benicio one will be coming out, even though I heard it would come out this year, but 'Motorcycle Diaries' comes out this Christmas.

The director, Walter Salles has made a filma called "O Quatrilho" that was indicated to teh oscar... I don't remember the year...

... Maybe the brazillian governament will give some cash to help producing the film, based in the Minister of Culture laws...

But I think It won't happen anymore 'cause Salles said that the movie will be in spanish, not in portuguese.

"I'm a brazilian. But It's not a movie only to brazilians, It's a movie to all latin america. That's why it's in spanish" he said when start to produce the film.

Alberto Granado, Che's lifetime friend who shared the trips around Latin America with him, was Salles's advisor or consultant for this movie. Thus, I believe the information he provided Salles must have been more than accurate.

A friend of mine who has recently statred up his own film company thinks the film will be released (in Australia) around Christmas. He missed out on the distribution rights in Australia (to his former employer who paid something like US$150,000)

Didn't Mr Banderas appear as Che in evita? At least that's what I heard, although che never met Eva, and I doubt he would have wanted to, at least on a social level. But yeah, Antonio Banderas would be good but he never seems to be very reckless, he's have to cultivate that if he was in motorcycle diaries.

Yes, you are right. Banderas played Che in Madonna's Evita movie.
