Especially marihuana and alcohol. Did he use them? What was his opinion about it?

I'd say he definately wouldn't have been a drug taker because of his asthma.
There were two “Reigns of Terror,” if we would but remember it and consider it; the one wrought murder in hot passion, the other in heartless cold blood; the one lasted mere months, the other had lasted a thousand years; the one inflicted death upon ten thousand persons, the other upon a hundred millions; but our shudders are all for the “horrors” of the minor Terror, the momentary Terror, so to speak; whereas, what is the horror of swift death by the axe, compared with lifelong death from hunger, cold, insult, cruelty, and heart-break? What is swift death by lightning compared with death by slow fire at the stake? A city cemetery could contain the coffins filled by that brief Terror which we have all been so diligently taught to shiver at and mourn over; but all France could hardly contain the coffins filled by that older and real Terror... --- Mark Twain

I know it doesn't stop you from taking drugs but it definately wouldn't be of any help to him. As for him smoking cigars, when you're around people who smoke them it's better to be an actual smoker than a passive one

Difficult to say anything about it, I don't know but I simply think he didn't used drugs. Sigars are something total different.

He was against drugs much like Fidel is now and didn't drink apart from the odd drink. Other than that he barely touched alchohol and that was one of the things that sparked Korda's outrage that his Che Guevara picture that is so famous today was used by a vodka company in an advertisement.

Supposedly the price of alcohol in Cuba is going up.

    mauhahahahahaha!

It's a personal issue, you know!

actually asthma drugs are pretty good even if you don't have asthma. I feel it is like adrenaline rush.

personally, I believe that Che kept himself in a sober manner no matter the substance!

    Loca con Che!

I read in Jon Lee Anderson's book that he didn't drink much other than red wine "when it was around." Makes me wonder where the Irish was in him...

Yeah. If Anderson's book didn't mention drug use, it probably didn't occur. He tried to dig up everything bad that Che ever did, it seems.

In Che's last letter, written to American College students, he says we must shun everything the bastards running Amerika hold dear; we must refuse to serve in their armies, refuse the heroin given in their universities...

It was in a collection of 60's articles. Published by Abbie Hoffman, it was titled "Che's Last Letter." I found it very inspiring.
