Is Che regarded more as a symbol of Revolution for every idealogy or more as a Communist symbol???

Revolution definately. Everybody uses his symbol.
There were two “Reigns of Terror,” if we would but remember it and consider it; the one wrought murder in hot passion, the other in heartless cold blood; the one lasted mere months, the other had lasted a thousand years; the one inflicted death upon ten thousand persons, the other upon a hundred millions; but our shudders are all for the “horrors” of the minor Terror, the momentary Terror, so to speak; whereas, what is the horror of swift death by the axe, compared with lifelong death from hunger, cold, insult, cruelty, and heart-break? What is swift death by lightning compared with death by slow fire at the stake? A city cemetery could contain the coffins filled by that brief Terror which we have all been so diligently taught to shiver at and mourn over; but all France could hardly contain the coffins filled by that older and real Terror... --- Mark Twain

Revolutionary. But nowadays...RATM demo cover? Nice Face On A T-Shirt?

    What's happening to Che, comrades?
The prolonged barrage engulfed Zero-One in the glow of a thousand suns. But unlike their former masters with their delicate flesh, the machines had little to fear of the bombs' radiation and heat. Thus did Zero-One's troops advance outwards in every direction. And one after another, mankind surrendered its territories. So the leaders of men conceived of their most desperate strategy yet. A final solution: the destruction of the sky.

Che is definatly the signet of revolution. And no matter how much he does become commercialized, he will always carry that strong revolutionary caliber that made him such a powerful symbol of a revolutionary age.

i don´t think it´s all that bad. if Che is used for commercial maybe people look beyond the symbol and try to get information about the person. so they maybe get in touch with revolutionary thoughts.
the same with bands like RATM... you can say they are sellout but they bring their message to more people as they would staying underground.

Very true. The only reason I became interested in politics was because of RATM. They were the reason I started, but not the reason I continue. All I hope is that their message can do the same for others.

The thing that initially got me interested in Che was a mural of Cuba solidarity on the Falls Road. I'll see if I can locate a pic of it.

if it wasn't for that symbol i probally wouldn't have tried to figure out who he was. i saw his face a few times on mike tyson(which also got me intrested in who mao was), and then i saw a travel show about cuba, and it showed a bulldozer in which they said che took out some tracks of a railway so a train full of weopens can crash. that made me want to learn about him.

Many people i know don't really know about che, but once i show them his face, they say they always wondered who that guy in the pictures was and that makes them start getting a bit of info.

p.s. anyone from toronto, this friday on cbc newsworld there is a show on che and castro.

    Revolutionary. Che was a marxist!
Anyways, I support RATM, over 60% of their profits goes towards charities, and their lyrics and music support introducing kids towards politics.
I feel the Ché shirts are supportive, get people intrested, thats how I started.
