ISL-LRP Forum on Zionism in New York

The following is an announcement regarding a forum on Zionism from a revolutionary Marxist point of view, hosted by the US League for the Revolutionary Party (LRP) and presented by the Internationalist Socialist League (ISL) of Israel / Occupied Palestine. Myself and two other comrades of the ISL, including the speaker, will attend. You are all invited to come.

[FONT=Simplified Arabic]فشلت الامبريالية الامريكية في اخماد المقاومة في العراق وأفغانستان مما تسبب في إضعاف سلطتها في كل مكان. وفي الوقت نفسه ، إسرائيل ، وبالأيديولوجية الصهيونية التي تستخدمها لتبرير وجودها ، تواجه أزمة جديدة للشرعية بعد أن فشلت في الحرب ضد حزب الله في لبنان ، والقتل والقصف والعقوبات ضد الفلسطينيين في غزة ، والتهديدات الحالية ضد إيران . وفي الوقت ذاته نظرت الاسلاميين المتشددين اصبحت بشكل متزايد وكأنها طريق مسدود بالنسبة للجماهير. [FONT=Book Antiqua]U.S. imperialism’s failure to quell resistance to its rule in Iraq and Afghanistan has weakened its power everywhere. At the same time, Israel, and the Zionist ideology it uses to justify its existence, faces a new crisis of legitimacy after its failed war against Hezbollah in Lebanon, its murderous bombing and sanctions against the Palestinians of Gaza, and its current threats against Iran. At the same time, the perspective of radical Islamists is increasingly exposed as a dead-end for the masses.[/FONT]

[FONT=Book Antiqua]What are the prospects for Palestinian liberation now? Do recent big strikes by workers in Egypt and widespread protests against the clerical dictatorship in Iran point to a new period of mass struggles throughout the region?[/FONT]

[FONT=Book Antiqua]At this forum, Yossi Schwartz, a veteran fighter for Palestinian rights and a leader of the Internationalist Socialist League of Israel/Occupied Palestine, will speak to these questions. He will explain why the ISL fights for Arab workers’ revolution to overthrow the state of Israel and establish a Palestinian workers’ state in which all peoples will be able to live free of racial and religious discrimination.
