In July I got a shirt of Che's picture tiled in different colours all over it... It's a really nice shirt. I got it at Randy River ( I was pretty messed up at the time... I was pro- socialism, but not really anti- capitalism). It has since created the opportunity to tell his story and start a lot of good conversations and debates, usually socialism vs. capitalism (in which i usually win... concieted, i know). (i have since asked the manager about it, his response was "I dont know, we dont think before we print stuff on our shirts") So, the question is, would Che have wanted his face prostituded on a shirt that is in support of a huge corporation?

most of the shirts that go around are bootlegs anyways...so there is no "big corperation" to worry about...i dont see anything wrong with them...he's not jesus....its not a religion....in my opinion...it spreads his words and beliefs much better....u dont know how many people ask me "whos that"....it opens peoples eyes and gets them thinking if the wearer knows anything about him....

i like buying blank shirts and puting a big picture of Che or someone else on it.

but i really raeally hate it when ppl wear the shirts and dont even know who the hell Che is. today i was in some intence debate agout revolutions and some of the ppl who i see wearing Che shirts say that a revolution is TERROIMS. wiht that they say that Che is a terroist! why are they wearing his face if they dont even know who he is!

same goes the other way, why are they printing his face and MAKING MONEY out of it, if they dont even know who he is. using a dead man for you capital! how dare you! (im not directing it to anyone, im just saying)

I love finding the people who wear the shirts and enquiring if they know who he is...

9 times outta 10, they don't. So I have a little history lesson, wherever we may meet.

Yea people just wear his t shirt becuase he looks "cool"

awhile ago I wore my t shirt of che to school. Some kid who ive seen wear his t shirt before came up to me and raised fist in the air (?) and said "Yeah man Chi!" the way he pronounced Ches made me ask him if he knew who he was. so the kid went on to say "yea he was a revolutionary" i than proceded to ask him where he died

    his answer .... "......."

most tshirts of che are bootleg, probally all of them

i saw some guy wearing a che shirt about 5 years ago and i asked my dad who he was. Then i did some of my own research on him and now i am a keen admirer of the man. however i think che would have absolutely hated his image being used on shirts. i own two bootleg shirts myself and wear them with pride!

innocentcivilian, i think your right. i think Che would have hated the idea of ppl wearing his face on shirts. he probably would think it made him look like some kind of movie star.

too bad, we still wear them.

Hey i jsut got an idea! im gonna make a shirt of Camilo Cienfuegos!

There's a bit of a story that goes along with how i got the shirt. I first saw his face on a video of a Rage Against The Machine Concert. I really didn't know who he was, so I just ignored it. Then I saw the face on the shirt in the store, so I asked who he was. All I got was "he was a cuban revolutionary. He fought with castro". I didnt know if the "with" meant against or alongside, so i researched him on the internet and found that he was a really cool guy, so I asked the whole question about why a capitalist organization would put his face on a shirt... i goes on ( i mentioned the rest of the story already). And I met a really cool leftist in one of my classes because of the shirt.

i wear a Che shirt myself, though i agree Che himself what disagree with how the capitalist system has turned his face into nothing more than a marketing tool. he was a man of his ideals and he would be angered at the superficiality of those who wear them simply as a fashion statement. however, i had mine custom made, so i don't concern myself too greatly with that.

What's the name of your company? I might be interested in buying a shirt or two.

We are not a company, we are a socialist youth organization.

Currently we don't ship our shirts out, we only sell them at our events. At the launch of our website we should have them ready though.

    che-lives.com sells shirts though:

Whats wrong with wearing a hero on your shirt ?
The thing, thats wrong is when people wear it and have no clue, what he's about.

But I aint like those people, so I dont see it as a bad thing.
I guess che doesnt want it to happen, but look from it from the bright side. If it wasn't for the famous korda picture, I wouldnt know who che was.

we all know that capitalism is Inevitable but we must uphold and keep our movements going, i wear Che T's i've even ordered them from this sight. but when i see someone who calls him Chi and, "Yeah fight the man!" i ask them hey whos the guy on your shirt? nine out of ten dont know, just let those people wear their che shirts, just think that the face on that shirt is che laughing at them, he'd be proud of organizations like what people at this site have formed. so let them wear their shirts, up in heaven or down in hell, che is laughing his baret off.
