what do you think of che's idea about a new socialist man, was it realistic or just idealistic. Could have it been achieved or was he just an exceptional man or as sartre said "the greatest human being of our age"

I think that this sartre guy said the most "complete" human of our age. And personally I think that che had his head in the clouds when he thought that up. We are all no Che Guevaras, unfortunately.

I beleive that "Che" was an exceptional human. He thought only of the community, not of himself. If everyone was like him, his idea would have worked. Unfortunately, most people are not.

Yeah Che was an exception: a totally altruistic man in a world of egoism.

I think you can expect from all the people on this planet to become like Che but you can show them the reality of capitalism to make them realize that a change of mentalities is needed.

che gave his life for what he believed in, and never asked for anyhting to himself. he gave hope to the hopeless and certainly his idea of a new man, is very realistic and innovative in history. cuba won't forget when he came into santa Clara with a small band of rebels and people turned to him, they helped blocking the streets and railroads so infamous batista's forces could come in. hours later he had taken over the town with the support of the people and his attitud would be imortalized in this brave country. viva cuba! hasta la victoria siempre!.

And I say to you that I am certain that the seed we have surrendered into the worthy conscience of thousands and thousands of Chileans, will not be able to be reaped at one stroke. They have the power, they can make us their vassals, but not stop the social processes, neither by crime nor by force. History is ours and is made by the people."

As the mighty oak begins with a small acorn likewise the New Socialist Man begins with an idea.
