I so often wonder what the world would be like if Ernesto Guevara was alive today. Of course, he was well aware of the fight against imperialism yet what did he know of holy wars? I'm sure that he knew plenty of the subject, I only wish to know what his position might be. Does anyone know of any literature regarding this subject?

Che Guevara was very considererate to other nations and races. He would probably not fight a holy war. He would fight a combat against rascist oppressors or something like that - who knows?

i think ches response towards holy war (or as muslims call it jihad?) because i don't think he would have been to positive about fighting for the principals of religion. however che may possibly have been attracted to the warfare against the imperialist ways of the certain opressing countries

If the holy war was fouhgt for good reasons (to end opresion, for freedom from super powers etc...) CHE would have been there ,revolution is revolution no matter what.

che was a marxist leninist, their fore he understood that national liberation movement must go thrue a bourgiesie democratic revolution before a socialist one. for this reason he would probably be in a united front with hamas or hezbollah i palestine and lebanon. he was after al very very much in awe of ben bella and the algerian revolution.look at that. he would have at leaset partly supported libya. he would be most in line as said be for with seculary revolutionary movements. hteir is a lot of maoism in che. i think he would have fought for the popular front for the liberation of palestine or for the farc-ep.i think were he alive today he would have improved his military theory more towards people's war and less towards focoism

remember, Guevara did not start out as a rebel without a cause. he simply saw injustice and took action. to say that he knew the correct "term" for the path that would eventually lead to a utopian society, communism or whatever, he could not have, in my perspective.

As for the idea of holy wars and Ches response to these I feel that Che as an adherent to the Leninist line of reasoning in revolutionary protocol would have gladly exploited the differences among recognized enemies of the people for the common good of the revolution.

jpcupp, you little fuck, i live in israel, and od you know what's like to be afraid to go out of your house? i live in haifa(which is luckily a more safe city)but even here people are afraid. in my school, the younger students are told not to go to the schoolyard of the old students because it is too close to the exit, so it is less safe. and since i am seventeen i get the unsafe schoolyard.

ok look, forget looking to figures of the past about what they might have thought about this or that. wasting your time. make up your own mind, and decide if you want to be pacified or take up some action.

mind you "holy war" is just a way for leaders to recruit more troops to join their cause, i mean you can take any version of the bible, quaran, whatever, and take some quote and make it sound like god is saying that you need to use violence to defend your rights. maybe you do, it just depends on your individual morals and beliefs.

Think he'll fight against oppression, he'll fight against free trade area, he'll fight side-by-side with Hamas against Israel. In fact, I'm sure he'll fight against Castro's absolute power in Cuba. Long live Che !

do you people know that arafat, hamas, the PLO, do not stand for anything remotely related to the peoples wants? (especially the PLO)

so dont go throwing the token names around like arafat.

If you want to argue like stupid morons take it up on an IM conversation or email, we dont want to read childrens misspelled flame mails.

the overwhelming majority of hamas and islamic jihad's attacks are in settlements. this is like condemning the antive americans for fighting colonialism, sure the pflp, pflp(gc), and dpflp are more securlar, but even these organizations call for unity of the palestinian people against genocidal maniacs and apologist such as this new democracy character that probably a cia contact. Instead of would che support holy wars the question would be would che support zionist and cypto zioisnts liek new democracy that claim to be revolutionary and yet dispute the right of the arab people to self-determination and national liberation by any means necassary. have you not read che's discourses on the barrel of the gun, similiar to mao's were he talks on and on about national liberation,or say the tri-contnetnental speech.no one likes to see little israeli babies die but the hamas is less to blame than the settler who chose to move into occupied terroroties out of greed and rascism.

you know nothing of the palestinian struggle let me update you since the zionst new democracy is a racist piece of trash.
arafat is bourgiesie nationalist, though he is secular. most of the palestininans who criticize him do so for the fact that they felt he sold out the palestinian people at the oslo peace accords. the marxist organizations, most notably the popular front for the liberation of palestine with such heroic comrades as george habash, leila khaled, abu ali mustafa. also their is a pflp general command that is a split off of that. the dpflp is similar to the pflp but were the pflp was in utter hatred for arafat, the dflp was more in the middle while still opposing the oslo peace accords. the marxist groups work with hamas and islamic jihadin a united front that refuses to compromise on palestian soveirgnty called the "rejectionist front" tactically it is importnat to support hamas an islamic jihad for they are objectively contributed to the revolution against zionism in a united front. also arafat has been under riddicule from the zionist lately they have treated him in a way that is repugnant and offensive as he is the head of the government. what western head of state would the international community allow to be trapped in an abandoned building and that is collapsing as the zionist patrol and attack it. tactically many palestinians are support ing arafat right now, some because they love him, some for the good of revolutiona s a short term tactic and some for oppurtunism. also their is an obscure organization called the palestinian people's party that is a communist organiztion that supported oslo, but they are not very large, and they only supported it for tactical reasons that i personally do not agree with. also hezbollah in lebanon i will expalin this very complicated situation to you all if you want, later.
    jp
so remember look at islamic organizations in the context of objective conditions to decide if they are revolutionary or progressive, and beyond that remember nationalism, even REACTIONARY NATIONALISM CAN PLAY A PROGRESSIVE ROLE IN A STRUGGLE AGAINST COLONIALISM AND NEO-COLONIALISM. IN THE CASE OF PALESTINE ARMED STRUGGLE IS NECASSARY AND ANY ORGANIZATION IS A LEAST PARTIALLY PROGRESSIVE SO LONG AS IT IS ANTI-IMPERIALIST SUBJECTIVELY AND OBJECTIVELY
