He spent a little bit of time in Miami while waiting for a ship or a boat back to South America after one of his roadtrips, I can't remember which. He tried to work as a house cleaner, but he wasn't too successful.

I was wearing a che shirt at school the other day and some girl said that it was stupid of me to wear a che shirt because che would have beat the shit out of me because I am canadian. Apparently, according to her, Che went around beating the shit out of everyone from North America. We got in a lengthy argument about it and she couldn't come up with any source other then her "friend who knows all about Che." I read his bio a couple years ago, but have forgotten bits and pieces of it. I guess my question is, did Che ever even go to North America? I know the argument will resurfess soon.

If I'm not mistaken he also visited NY in '64. I'm pretty sure I seen a picture of him there.
There were two “Reigns of Terror,” if we would but remember it and consider it; the one wrought murder in hot passion, the other in heartless cold blood; the one lasted mere months, the other had lasted a thousand years; the one inflicted death upon ten thousand persons, the other upon a hundred millions; but our shudders are all for the “horrors” of the minor Terror, the momentary Terror, so to speak; whereas, what is the horror of swift death by the axe, compared with lifelong death from hunger, cold, insult, cruelty, and heart-break? What is swift death by lightning compared with death by slow fire at the stake? A city cemetery could contain the coffins filled by that brief Terror which we have all been so diligently taught to shiver at and mourn over; but all France could hardly contain the coffins filled by that older and real Terror... --- Mark Twain
He did visit NY.

Che didn't even beat the crap out of prisoners in his his tragic Bolivian campaign, if I'm not mistaken. He was a compassionate leader of men.
The prolonged barrage engulfed Zero-One in the glow of a thousand suns. But unlike their former masters with their delicate flesh, the machines had little to fear of the bombs' radiation and heat. Thus did Zero-One's troops advance outwards in every direction. And one after another, mankind surrendered its territories. So the leaders of men conceived of their most desperate strategy yet. A final solution: the destruction of the sky.

he went touring round S.America on a bike with a friend he ended up in miami for a while. i think (im not sure) that he even had some N.American friends (term used loosely)
That girl really should think before she trusts what people tell her and her friend who 'knows all' about Che needs a reality check. He didn't beat the crap outta north americans, if he did I wouldn't like him so much (I'm canadian too eh). It's sad that people actually think these things about him. I wore a 'che shirt' yesterday so COME AND GET ME!!!!! LOL
hawarameen,
yeah, he was in Miami catchin' a flight
yeah, he was at the UN in '64.

Some gusano tried to fire a bazooka into the chamber of the General Assembly when he was speaking, but it fell short into the East River. Hahaha.
in one of che's biography i read that he spent some time in miami before returning to argentina to complete his degree. i really don't remember how he ended there, but i saw some cool pics of him enjoying miami beach, where he worked as a dish-washer for a while to get the money to return to his country.
"...Standing at a historic point, I will repay with my life the loyalty of the people. And I say to you that I am certain that the seed we have surrendered into the worthy conscience of thousands and thousands of Chileans, will not be able to be reaped at one stroke. They have the power, they can make us their vassals, but not stop the social processes, neither by crime nor by force. History is ours and is made by the people."

yes, he was in Nueva York representing Cuba at the United Nations. He received death threats from a woman there. She stalked him for awhile. Che found it amusing and joked with his comrades that "it would be really romantic to die at the hands of a woman."

I personally find myself in rebellion against the fate that history seems to have in store for us, and I suspect that some of you may be equally rebellious. The question is, what can you do? --Leo Szilard, \"Are We On The Road To War?\" Nov 17, 1961
metalero,
he hopped a plane that happened to land in miami, and the return flight was delayed. i think he was there for about 3 days...
and about peoples ignorance, if the battle is hopeless move on. you should be able to tell within moments if a person is completely indoctrinated or is at least open to the truth. dont argue with someone who says that president reagan is their hero. move on, find someone else to share ideas with that isnt completely wound up in corporate propaganda.
he was in miami for like a month right? i know he was almost arrested for arguing with a police officer who was chastising a Puerto Rican, i heard it was one of the worst times of his life.

When i wear one of my Che shirts...most people dont even know who he is...many people wearing the shirts dont even know who he is (they think its a cool shirt)...its sad...i live in NYC...where about half of the population has some kind of Central/South American background...and many from my generation dont know nor care who he is...sad to see what the world is coming to...
why dont you offer to teach them then?
where else are they going to learn, school?
I'm Canadian too (!)
As far as I know, Che wouldn't have gone around beating up North Americans, especially Canadians, since Castro and Trudeau were pretty good buddies (Castro attended Pierre's funeral a few years ago). I know Trudeau took office after Che's death, but he was still a very active participant in the government (minister of Justice), and, besides that, Che wasn't the kind of person that would just beat up a Canadian just because of where they were born. The person you argued with is obviously ignorant. (I wore a Che shirt on monday)

you dont have to be an accredited instructor of any sort,
