Default So I voted for the first time today...

...just like a good Capitalist Canadian citizen should! Anyway, I was so tempted to write in Karl Marx, but didn't want to spoil my first ever ballot. Oh well. Maybe next election.

The NDP are still better than the Liberals. I'm very disappointed with this. At least the NDP wanted to raise minimum wage. Time for four more years of über-opression...

I'll be able to vote for the first time in June, when there are European elections. But I don't think I want to. What the hell is there to vote for on the left? I don't want to vote for the nationalist, xenophobic, protectionist and isolationist "Socialist" Party, that's for sure. But I also don't want to vote for the europhilic, left-liberal "Green" list. So fuck that.

They should introduce pan-European parties, so that it will at least be possible to vote for a European Communist Party. The current system is a joke, even by electoral standards.

Remember folks, voting only encourages them, and if it changed anything, it would be illegal.

Not only that, you are being ruled, and you think it is good that you get to have some say in who rules you? Sure, better the person who merely threatens to whip, than the person who whips at the slightest offence. But I would rather be free!

Fuck that shit.

(Mind you, the first time I could vote, I still voted. I very quickly became disillusioned when the nothing changed. That and RevLeft.)

We'll vote it into power on the European level, of course. Reformism ftw.

Nah, I don't think it changes much at all. But if I had to vote for something, I'd like to have a bit more choice.

I vote in the local elections, because it actually makes a difference. Sometimes. When a good candidate appears. Otherwise it's just "maintain security" and "commercial development!"

In june when the election for the European parlement takes place I'll vote 'Partij voor de Dieren' (Animal party ).
Simply because they are the only party in Europe (ever) to stand up against the massive foodindustry that abuses animals and because they serve my anti-capitalist ways the most of all electoral parties. This is at the same time a perfect 'no-vote' to the election as a whole, because this 'Animal Party' is a single-issue party wich brings laughs to the table. If this doesn't ridicule the European elections I don't know what will. If you don't vote because you don't agree with the system you will be portrayed as non-political, rather than against the system.

Voting for Partij voor de Dieren is a win-win thing. Not only do I mock the election as a whole, I also raise awareness about animal rights and the capitalist extortion of animals to serve our daily needs.
