In the movie CQ (directed by Roman Coppola, Francis Ford Coppola's son) there is a movie-in-a-movie and one of the stars is obviously modeled after Che. He is played by Billy Zane and the movie-in-a-movie is a Barbarella-ish B-Movie that's set in 1969's vision of 2001 and Che's army is on the moon. Che's army is fighting to free earth so that its residents will be able to make love all day, every day. He's got a secret weapon that freezes people and his olive green uniform looks like it was made out of a cheap shiny disposable table cloth from a party store. It's hilarious. Go see it, now!

Rushmore was overrated and Slackers looked awful. (I never actually saw it, though.) I was never in the Schwartzman cult, but there's no way he could have been the worst actor in CQ because Sofia Coppola had a small part. Their whole family should just stick to directing. (Well, maybe Schwartzman should be allowed to act because his mom was fairly talented.)

The only thing that I ever really liked about Schwartzman is the fact that he could never, ever become a sex symbol. He's just too damned ugly. It was inevitable that men like Denzel Washington and Brad Pitt would become heartthrobs, but we've all seen average-looking guys become sex symbols because they're famous, not because they're talented. And that's annoying.

Anyway, here's Billy Zane as Mr. E:

Hey! I liked Rushmore. And that suit doesn't look all that shiny.

IWDY, you must see Slackers. I saw it not expecting much, but it was so unpredictable and hilarious--it blew me away. It was also a lot more twisted than I thought it would be.

Slackers looked like a complete American Pie ripoff, and nothing more. And Rob, the suit is under the trench coat.

American Pie was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Slackers is nothing like American Pie, it has really no relation whatsoever. Again, see Slackers, you won't be sorry. It does have a lot of pretty childish humor, but Schwartzman's character is worth it.
