Default Appreciation for Senior Members who Disappear...

The full title of this thread should be:

Appreciation for Senior Members who Disappear for Months Only to Reappear and Post One or Two Smart Things and then Disappear Again

Exactly as the would-be title says:

    Obvious ones
TC - Who goes quite a while without posting regularly than jumps in an shuts down plenty of reactionaries, particularly where feminism is concerned. Certainly don't agree with her politics, but she's logical like a mofo.
Janus - Did he leave or something? Anyway, he used to be one of these dudes. He crept around and did administrative work and then dropped a few nuggets of wisdom in a couple sentences then went back to moving threads about how big one's penis is to the trash.
Blackstone - Who's the only fucking anarchist in the whole world who apparently cares about Africa? Blackstone, that's who, and his analysis of libertarian potentials in African politics is totally needed and sorely lacking.

Hm, there's a lot of others, but by their nature they're hard to think of.

I totally knew that was coming. Hehe.

But we do miss you, you egotistical bastard.

The last time I was sentenced to death, I ordered four hyper-vodkas for my breakfast. All a bit of a blur after that... I woke up in bed with both of my executioners. Lovely couple, they stayed in touch! Can't say that about most executioners. - Captain Jack Harkness

What about the folks who go, and don't come back? Who can remember canikickit? Or, I was just whining the other day about VermontLeft (who I discover only posted 200 odd posts..., would barely make it into the CC, though I would have let them in after 50...).

I also miss the old LSD, mind, I haven't seen the new one post much at all either.

chimx used to actually post interesting stuff on occasion, though I know some folks didn't like him.

RedCeltic, he used to be in the military, and thus had great information for folks thinking of joining, and great advice, don't. (Oh, and one of the original members, having joined in 2001!)

Heh, I just noticed that Urban Rubble visits the site still, but hasn't posted since December last year.

ComradeRed, did they ever get their degree?

rioters bloc, almost fits the requirement of coming back very rarely...

Blackstone was awesome. Loved that guy.

"As the world of the spectacle extends its reign it approaches the climax of its offensive, provoking new resistances everywhere. These resistances are very little known precisely because the reigning spectacle is designed to present an omnipresent hypnotic image of unanimous submission. But they do exist and are spreading.", The Bad Days Will End.

"(The) working class exists and struggles in all countries, and has the same enemies in all countries – the police, the army, the unions, nationalism, and the fake ‘socialism’ of the bourgeois left. It shows that the conditions for a worldwide revolution are ripening everywhere today. It shows that workers and revolutionaries are not passive spectators of inter-imperialist conflicts: they have a camp to choose, the camp of the proletarian struggle against all the factions of the bourgeoisie and all imperialisms." -ICC, Nation or Class?

“Where the worker is regulated bureaucratically from childhood onwards, where he believes in authority, in those set over him, the main thing is to teach him to walk by himself.” - Marx

"It is illogical and incorrect to reduce everything to the economic [socialist] revolution, for the question is: how to eliminate [political] oppression? It cannot be eliminated without an economic revolution... But to limit ourselves to this is to lapse into absurd and wretched ... Economism." - Lenin

"[During a revolution, bourgeois democratic] demands [of the working class] ... push so hard on the outer limits of capital's rule that they appear likewise as forms of transition to a proletarian dictatorship." - Luxemburg

“Well, then go forward, Tower of Bebel! [August] Bebel is one of the most brilliant representatives of scientific international socialism. His writings, speeches and works make up a great tower, a strong arsenal, from which the working class should take their weapons. We cannot recommend it enough… And if the [International] deserves to be named Tower of Bebel... well, then we are lucky to have such a Tower of Bebel with us.” - Vooruit

TAT's not been around so much. It's kind of sad. Even though he pisses me off from time to time.

He posted some photographs of a few of his paintings in the CC (not sure if those posts are still around) - surrealist i think, and would contribute funny, well drawn, cartoons in the gfx forum.
