I was just at a Reclaim The Streets party and we were marching towards a park when the Police baton charged us for no reasons. A few people are in hospital now and many more are in bits. My shoulders and legs are all bruised.

By the time the police started cracking skulls, the crowd was only at about 300 but I'd say almost every person there got attacked. Even people who weren't in the protest were attacked. A reporter for Indymedia who was in a cafe came out to see what was happening and was hit across the shoulders and had his camera battery taken. People who wouldn't move off the road were attacked. I seen a woman who was talking to her friends (she was part of the rally) didn't get off the street quick enough and a police woman tried to take her beer can. She refused and was attacked by 6 male police and beaten. Anyone who just tried to pull her free was hit.

The people are afraid poorly. Poor is not the socialism. We diligently struggle positively to construct. But, in the good heart's core, the dignity and just forever is higher than richly. We forever and peace-loving people in same place. The formidable imperialism dares rampant. Then, we must fight with it. We do not need too to argue. Practice. We must win. The world people unite as one, does not divide the belief nationality and the region. Our friendship long live.

Agreed. The situation does sound particularly nasty, but to wish a heap of people dead because they were following orders?
The real trick is to look into the eyes of the cop when they're that close, and see if they've got their heart in it or not. It's easy to tell - they looked disturbed if they're not, like they wish they were elsewhere.
A lot of the cops just put on the badge to fill what is empty inside of them since they were little punk kids.
Cops seem to start more problems than they do stop them.

Well I already can tell that the situation there is the completely opposite of here in Holland.
The Police has no power here, when a cop here hits someone he has to get in front of the court and almost all the time they get punished.
Its crazy cause most people are taking advatange of this, but at least we dont have any probs with over reacting cops.
Well here in iceland the cops are afraid of anyone they dont dare to step out of teir cars on weekend nights lol. Well they fuck with young people like me in the middle of the day but in the nights, they are to afraid to step out! cause if they step out they just get beet the crap out of them. So advice if you come to Iceland and you are gonna get drunk dont fuck with any drunk or not drunk Icelanders downtown (at least not the young ones) sorry to say but we are quite a violent nation..

In a riot or confrontation with the police, it's important to realise that they're just as intimidated as you are. Like at reclaim the streets, when we started drumming on the car, it was like some fuckin war drum. Scared the pigs good 'n' proper.

I remember reading about medieval war techniques years back, and how they used their war drums to good effect. The commonly held belief of most historians is that they're used to keep up the fervor going in their own troops, but what's also apparent in some reports is that it scared the crap out of the opposing force, because they could hear the drums getting closer and closer and usually couldn't see the warriors until the last moment - and by then, it was too late to plan attacks.
Much like hearing a Black Hawk helicopter before seeing it rise up over a hill - it's a scary thing. First you hear it, then the ground starts shaking a bit, then finally you see it. There wouldn't be one soldier who's heartbeat was not already racing before it's even in view - a very powerful and intimidating tool. And deadly one to boot.

I do agree a large percent of police are corupt and i would like to crack there skulls with a hammer of justice
but my and any one else would change there mind if you were about to get rape by some smely old man
so police have a purpose but the guys at the top the government and such they are the real *****es if they belive in stuff so strongly how come you dont see blair on the streets at night or bush trying to take out terorists on his own....
one thing that gets me and cuts me up about the police is the fucking rediculous laws like you cant smoke weed but you can drink your self to the next millenium and you need a permit for exapions on the street like a bum playing a harmonica needs a permit were i come from twist my tits really bad if the time they spend looking for some teens smokin pot was spent on solvin real crimes like rape and murder then things would be better
