I´d like to ask you, what do you think about the swedish film that was made with that in mind to find out who really betraid Che. In the movie they are reffering to Cere Bustos as the main traidor (that he told the army Che´s location or only that he confirmed his dwelling in Bolivia, I personally think that most of the guerilla forces that were caught said something (each one of them) and I don´t know if to blame them, I mean, the pressure of CIA and the army, few men I think can give resistance to their ways of making people talk..or am I wrong. Of course I am not justifying that any man should betray his companeros but I would like to hear you´re opinion...?

I don´t know where you can get it but yes bustos was the artist who drew all the scetches and he also drew people who didn´t exit to confuse the military plus that he only tried to draw faces who the army and CIA already knew about...but stay in touch with me I just might find a way to get you the documentary....

You can order it directly from the film makers. Their website is www.sacrificio.nu and it has their e-mail addresses on it and they charged me $20, which I think it is worth.

I can't remember his name now, but I place a lot of the blame on the guy in charge of the Bolivian Communist party. It seems like he outright lied to Che about supporting him. He was also behind dictating the region where Che was to operate in Bolivia, which proved a disastrously bad choice.

Well, in my opinion Fidel betrayed him but not laying the ground work in Bolivia like he promised, Che made the mistake again by not having good contacts with the communist faction and the farmers, but this time it was Fidel's mistake.

i am not too sure if you can lay the blame on Fidel like that, I am only going off what I read in JLAnderson's CHE, but he reported that Che's group lost posession of their radio to contact Fidel, how would Fidel know where to send men without causing a stir, the lack of communication between Cuba and Che made things all fuct up, I think a big reason for the failure was the lack of support from the peasants and farmers in the area, that was part of the great success in Cuba.

Well, it is known that Fidel's other henchmen were getting a bit tired of this argentinian speaking in their name and were afraid the yankees would come in to bust their brains and russian support would stop.
It is rumoured that Fidel knowlingly stopped supporting Che in order not to get a bad name with the Russians .
Che was not on best relations with the russians and also he was useless to the Americans.
Che had also failed a revolution in Africa where he had to get out in disguise in order not to get caught.

fidel promised Che that Che would have good contacts and support from the local communist party in Bolivia. I wonder what ever came true of that promise.

I think that Che and Fidel would have had to start the revolutions in locations closer to Cuba, hence, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras. Places that had campesinos interested in revolt. Also places that were territories that had to be more familiar to them and easier to control. Once you would have a large backing in Central America, then I would have moved down to South America with more horsepower.

I also would not really involve the Russians, Chinese, the fewer outside assistance the tighter the operation.
Also, you need to be in these countries for a while to feel them out and understand the local people.
