He's got curly hair in that picture! And such an odd mustache. Maybe he lost a drunken bet? He looks kind of like those portraits of philosophers . . . that kind of makes no sense, but you know what I mean.

Thanks Supermodel - what a great picture! Pictures like that often makes me wonder what he was smiling and/or laughing about; what his humour was really like when fully revealed, etc. Has been a fasctination of mine for a while now.

I was in Borders today browsing through the Latin American History section, when I saw a couple of Che books (written on him, not by him) that I didn't have. Within one of them was a picture of him walking somewhere with Aleida and his bodyguard. They were laughing hysterically about something or other, and there was no sense of held-in emotions that is usually seen in Che's images.

It was such a fantastic picture ...

I'll locate it again at some stage, and see if I can make a semi-decent scan of it - I have a flatbed scanner that likes to make a wave-like effect across images, unfortunately, but there has to be some way to stop that.

That's a great picture of Che. I find that in most pictures of them he always looks so serious. It is always nice to see the lighter side of such a great man.

while researching che for history day i found an enormous amount of cool pictures. My favorite was one of him while adressing the cuban populace. he was sitting on a podium thingy and laughing so hard he was bent over. I wonder why???
Direct action is key- don't just sit at your computer and rant at leftists you disagree with slightly- get out there and DO IT. Organize. Change your life, and change the lives of those around you. The reason the waterheads are still in power is because we aren't being loud enough.

The image I'm currently using for my avatar is one of my very few favourites.
Comical pictures of him are very rare to come by, but they're fun.

(for reference, in case I change it later: Che is playful, cross-eyed, looking down at his cigar in his mouth)

Oh, and Lefty, if it's possible - could you please post that image of Che that you described, here?

The pictures is gone :'( Geocities says it isn't available.
There were two “Reigns of Terror,” if we would but remember it and consider it; the one wrought murder in hot passion, the other in heartless cold blood; the one lasted mere months, the other had lasted a thousand years; the one inflicted death upon ten thousand persons, the other upon a hundred millions; but our shudders are all for the “horrors” of the minor Terror, the momentary Terror, so to speak; whereas, what is the horror of swift death by the axe, compared with lifelong death from hunger, cold, insult, cruelty, and heart-break? What is swift death by lightning compared with death by slow fire at the stake? A city cemetery could contain the coffins filled by that brief Terror which we have all been so diligently taught to shiver at and mourn over; but all France could hardly contain the coffins filled by that older and real Terror... --- Mark Twain

che was well-noted for his humor and wit. There are accounts of him acting as doctor to Raul Castro when he had a cold, and all Che did was crack jokes to make him feel better. A great pic indeed.

it shows how we are so feeble when we are sad in most cases, and that when we are sad we should think of what shit che went thru and still had a smile and gave a smile to others
